Discomfort when lifting?

    Hi everyone, quick question. i recently started starting strength and am loving it, everything is going fine(apart from DOMS :P) but i have noticed that when i am squatting and shoulder pressing my wrists tend to ache badly after a few sets.
    I try and get my hands as close to my shoulders as i can when squatting as it says in the book, but if i move them wider the acheing subsides.
    Is this a common problem, will it stop over time?

    any help is greatly appreciated.

    i have the same problem. for me its if my wrist is not inline with my arm. Try picture your wrist joint isnt actually there, and get it perfectly in line with your arm.

    If you have SS, look at the part about wrist position in the squat section. That's what you're going for.

    If you can't do that you're doomed to a life of wrist pain, unless;
    -you wrap them
    -or, take your grip out
