    Hey,

I was just hoping for a bit of advice on hard gainers. Im 6`4, And about 13 stone. Pretty skinny build (not rake hand skinny) But would be considered thin.

I'm having a pretty difficult time seeing any gains at all. Going every seconds day, And doing mostly full boy workouts.

I have seen huge improvement in what I can lift, But no definition and/or bulk.

Is this normal? Or what can I do to improve it?

Lifts are getting bigger but you're not? Eat more.

Im eating pretty big meals every day, 5-6 times a day.

Iv always had the ability to eat loads and not get fatter, Really high metabolism, Will this work the same for muscle gain?

Hardgainers are people who don't eat enough IMO.

Work out the you maintenace calorie level. Eat more than that. Try to get 1gram per pound of bodyweight.

Make sure you are doing as many compound movements as possible: Squat, deadlift, bench, row etc.

It might help if you post up your diet and routine.

OP, podge57 who thanked a post above was a carbon copy of where you were and he's really piled on the lbs recently so I'd take the advise in that post to heart. Calories calories calories.

yup, my mothers apple crumble and frozen pizza seem to be doing the trick :D

at 6'4, you can afford to eat loads of whatever you want and you will get results if you have any half decent programme

Do you know your calorie intake? I am not asking for a list of foods/meals you eat, a lad in my works "ham sandwich" is ~1200kcal, another lads is ~250kcal. Weightwatcher guides estimate a singapore chowmein takeaway to be 5.5points, I estimate the one in my local to be 33.5points.

If you are not actively weighing and calculating your food intake there is no way you can truthfully say you "eat loads".

1L of whole milk and 100g of nuts is an easy ~1250kcal per day. Not "a handful" and a "few glasses", 1 litre and 100grams.

Also full body workouts every 2 days might be too much. What exercises are you doing, I hope not squats & deadlifts every 2 days.

As a hardgainer myself I really do feel sorry for the real genuine people that just cannot put on weight.
As a trainer I work my ass off trying to get in shape and the general bigger, stronger, faster. If i put on a kilo it's a huge achievement.
I'm just after looking at my old diet plans of last year
    1 month diet plan
6 am - Porridge, two slices of wholegrain toast, 6 eggs, pint of milk
8 am - Mass Gainer shake
    10 am - 250g of cashew nuts
1 pm - Chicken, rice and veg, pint of milk
3 pm - 100g of mixed nuts plus mass gain shake
5 pm - Lean meat with potatoes/rice/pasta and veg
    6 pm - 100g of nuts
8 pm - 3 chicken fillets and potatoes
    10 pm - 2 pints of milk

Obviously there would be slight changes depending on what time I would train and stuff like pre and post shakes to be considered. 9 meals a day, I was literally nearly sick, stuck it for a month religiously, I was 89.5 kg starting and I finished at a whopping 90.4 kg!
Now I suppose I burn a lot of calories due to my job but ffs that's disheartening!

How much do you reckon you burn from exercise alone? you seem to be taking in a lot of calories, but you are on lipotrim compared to Michael Phelps!

The average Irish persons intake is meant to be over 3500kcal per day.

Ok after assessing what I eat during the day, I'v just realised its allot. But allot of the wrong stuff.

Been doing a little research and Im not exactly doing it right lol. When I gain any sort of weight it goes straight to my stomach and is pretty easy to shift, Does anyone have some kind of diet they could throw my way to bulk up including supplements?

I just don't know how much I burn really, I only train once per day but I do a lot of demonstrating and a few warm up/cool downs with people.
I say I was consuming nearly 8000 calories by the looks of things, both the shakes were serious mass and I know that had a crazy amount of calories in it. And when I look at my own diet now I consume around 3000-4000 which is nothing really, weight still remains the same.
OP the one thing I would recommend is nuts, you can nibble on them all day and you get a lot of good protein and fats into your system

 that IS on a par with Phelps!

Yes, even the skinniest food-hating friend of mine devours nuts by the handful. Just watch out for all the salt, you can get unsalted in the baking section in supermarkets or in health shops & asian food shops.

A bit of advice on the nut front! (oh the possibilities:)) , maybe its just me but when i eat brazil nuts i cant stop untill the packet has gone and the amount of em eaten seems to be directly proportional to the amount of time i spend on the can!!
