Yeah same, I only did 3.
For my mocks I was like the only person in my class to just do 3 but I got a pretty good grade so I guess if you just put enough effort into answering 3 questions well then you'll do fine!

IDIOTS you're supposed to do five otherwise you can't get an A! That's why Geography has one of the lowest A rates, because IDIOTS take the "Only three questions are mandatory" mantra to heart LOLZORINA

Um no need for the name calling now.
Both of my brothers who have done both geography in the JC have both gotten an A/B grade when they said they only had done the amount of questions which was asked..oh and by the way, one of those brothers has now gone into university to study what? GEOGRAPHY
don't just pigeonhole us for doing was what mandatory..if we're idiots then half of the people sitting their junior cert are idiots.
To get a good grade you need to put time and effort into answering the questions, clearly the people who were able to answer all five are either absolutely geniuses who can write faster than the speed of light, or they didn't put enough effort into answering the questions well.
    SUCK ON THAT

The geographical mix was surprisingly short. I wrote little for the D (ii). I'm abit concerned that they might've wanted more than "The picture was taken in summer. This is because the leaves are fully fledged on the deciduous trees."

Some buildings in the center, you could see their shadows. Showing sun.
No white water in the sea. Indicates calm weather.
    Thats what I wrote anyway.
I did all 5 questions, but thats only because I was writing constantly at almost max speed for the whole exam.
Very easy overall. Very good chance of the A

See, this guy knows what he's talking about.

And by the way, what does pigeonhole mean? People are always saying I do it, but I have NO IDEA what it means.

I hope everyone remembered to answer all five questions, right?

I couldn't do 4 part D because my photograph fell down and some guy picked it up, thinking it was his, and I was too embarrassed to take it back. Teehee.

    Still, though. GUARANTEED A

    More like guaranteed C.

If you do 5 questions your marked on your best 3, and if you do 5 questions then chances are you will not write as much as you know on it(Unless your just waffling on anyway).

Therefore doing 3 questions and writing 1 page for even 8/10 mark questions like i did, "GUARANTEES A" because your giving more infromation than required to ensure if you got 1 point wrong your still covered with others.

90% of the time, when people answer 5 questions they dont get an A, theres a fixed amount of marks, and i would be willing to bet you wont get an A aswell.

    Some people are fast writers....
I wrote about 12 pages and answered all 5 questions. Am I guaranteed an A? Probably not guaranteed but I actually have a good chance of getting an A seeing as I answered all 5 questions back in the mock and got 85%. Heres hoping I don't jinx myself.

Yeah I was thinking about writing down the same except I thought the sun could be out in winter and the water could be calm in winter. It was a tricky question.

Cool your jets, if you do 3 questions excellently you'll get an A. If you do 5 questions to a lesser standard you won't. You're only marked out of the best of your 3 questions, and 150 marks.

I am also a very fast, messy writer. The thing about geography is that its very hard to get a question "wrong" apart from questions in the test such as "Which pyramid has the characteristics of a developing country" etc.

If you write 1 page on an answer for the ii(8 mark part asking to compare them) you more than likly will get 10/10 for that question. If you write 6-7 lines then yes, possibly if you are to the point and very intelligent and know your stuff then its possible. But the fact is that if you know you are right in the "small" stuff and can develop your answers there is no point in answering all 5.

I said that it was summer because the trees had green leaves ...
    Is that correct?
