It's midweek flights to UK airports as far as I can see.

I got €2 return to Liverpool on July 1st. Used Entropay also.

I booked these too last week. Going to Liverpool from Cork this month for a grand total of €4 for 2 people. Very Happy.

Yeah - Entropay. Load €10 on to it and it will work fine.

Sorry, Shannon to London, but works for most UK locations by looks of things!
Just have to look for flights in September and October, haven't seen anything for June, July and August, but i could be corrected?
Just log onto Entropay, register then transfer 10 from your own credit card to account on Entropay.

€2!!!! Aw then I got stung... just payed a massive €6 for a return flight to Edinburgh ;) Good ol' Entropay. Should probably mention that you must choose GBP instead of Euro for it to be an Electron Visa.

Edit: By the way I'm going next week and just booked it about a week ago. Flying home on the sat but it didn't stay at that price for long!

thanks - couldn't figure it out from this site but when I searched for info on another I discovered that when you register for the entropay card it is then that you must take the GBP option - that way your card no will commence with 4101 and then the visa electron option will work on the ryanair site for no fees:)

    thanks:)

Okay stupid question alert but cant find it. It's probably right under my nose but how do you select to use GBP instead of EUR

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 338 ✭✭snowdaze

you don't select it on the ryanair site

it is when you register for the entropay card that you select GBP account

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,329 ✭✭✭wcarey1975

Oh grand thats okay have that set. Well I warned it was a stupid question. Thanks again. W

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 338 ✭✭snowdaze

no question is stupid...dozens of other readers will benefit;)

I registred a euro entropay card first and tried and failed on ryanair with it

I discovered on another site how to register correctly...maybe I don't reaqd the posts on boards fully???

anyhow...I can easily spend the bal on my euro entropay card on ebay on something useful..(Not!):D

and now, I have a GBP entropay card for Ryanair!! yippee...thanks Boardsies!:D

help i'm booking flights ryan air flights with the visa electron and its not working. the funds are in the card but it tell me i have wrong info when i put the cardholder etc.please help? 6 people 2 london with baggage €132 great bargin

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 338 ✭✭snowdaze

are you using an entropay virtual visa card? If you are, what are the first four digits?

It must start with 4101 and be a GBP card in order for the visa electron option to go through free of charge.

If you set up an entropay card as most of us naturally would, with EURO being the currency, then your card will not begin with 4101 and will not go through free of charges when you use it on the ryanair site.

    hope this helps:)

I eventually got it. using that entropay saved me €60.

Yes you put 'Entropay User' instead of your name.

Thanks OP I just booked 3 ryanair flights and with the Entropay account I've set up no charges at all. Magic.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 523 ✭✭✭carly_86

ya there is a booking fee i think its like €10 per person but if your booking on line with ryanair set up a virtual visa card that way u dont have to pay the fee

You mean is there an additional penalty if you don't travel? No, you just lose whatever you paid for the flight.

booked 4 from cork to dublin first flight out , last back 21 july for 8 euro using card , no fee just 8 euro ,brill. thanks mate

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 828 ✭✭✭bored_newbie

Do you register for Entropay using your Irish address? What do you put for postal code?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 131 ✭✭richieb

used my irish address, the 1 on my credit card, must pick gb pounds as currency, there is a 4.95% charge for loading card, ie i put in 50 sterling and as charged 2.50 pounds which was deducted as 63 euro from my credit card, i then went on to ryanair and booked as normal using my irish address , when i came to pay i put in the card as electron visa there was no extra charge, i coped and pasted my acc. no. from the card , put in the expiry date and security code and voila, instant confirmatiom. checked entropay acc. and 7.20 english had been deducted, great stuff , saved 40 yoyos , cool

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 828 ✭✭✭bored_newbie

That's what I did try but it says "Postal code is invalid."

    Edit REP123 works.

Hi there, I book a lot of Ryanair flights and so am very interested in this apparent way around the booking charge.

I had a look at the charges listed for using the entropay card which include the following:

Billing currency conversion service charge 2.75%
    Load funds from a credit/debit card 4.95%
Foreign exchange fee on relevant purchases 2%

    (See here: http://www.entropay.com/popups/terms.schedule.php)

As we have been advised to use GBP as the currency then I assume we would be liable for the currency conversion charge of 2.75% and also the 4.95% for loading the funds. Also, there is a foreign exchange fee on 'relevant' (whatever those are) purchases of 2% which means that if I was to book a flight on Ryanair in euro then I would be liable to pay 7.7% (or a possible 9.7%) of the fare to entropay.

Now I'm the first to admit I'm rubbish at maths but I'm looking to book a return flight at the moment for myself and my husband. The fare comes to €310.28 including bags but not including booking fee. As far as I can make out 7.7% of this would come to €23.89 (or the possible 9.7% which comes to €30.10) which means I'd actually end up paying more than if I just paid the €20 booking fee to Ryanair!

Please correct me if I'm wrong with any of the information here (believe me I'd love to be wrong about it!) but as far as I can see - I'm not really avoiding the booking fee - I'm just paying it to someone else!

Re: Tupins without going through the maths in detail you are correct that you wouldn't be saving here.
It's only really of use on cheaper flights as the booking fee is a flat fee and entropay's fee is a commission.

Can somebody explain Entrepay to me, PLEASE!!!

Does it work like Paypal, where you register your credit card details then when you transfer funds to Entrepay - is it then charged to your credit card account. Sorry, it must sound like a stupid question to you all here, but I looked at the website and I'm still baffled!

Basically it's a virtual credit card. You register and you get a credit card number (but not an actual card).

It works like mobile top up - you load money onto your entropay virtual card using a visa or debit card you already have. So if you load €100 from your existing card onto your entropay card then you will have €100 to use on the entropay card. You can also load money onto it from your bank account.

It's probably used by people who don't have a visa card but need to buy something online.

Hmm, so I suppose it would still be useful on the cheap flights. Handy to know for the future anyway. I suppose I'll just calculate the cost like that in fututre and see which option is best. I imagine you'd save more also the more people on the booking. When it's just for one or two the saving is less.

    Thanks.

If your card is registered in GBP, then is the money loaded onto it converted to sterling with charges applied?

And do you pay a yearly fee on it, like Visa?

    Their website states:

"There are no monthly or annual fees with an EntroPay Virtual Card. Our only fee is the charge on each amount loaded onto an EntroPay Virtual Card."

Yes there is a conversion fee as I mentioned above -

Billing currency conversion service charge 2.75%
    Load funds from a credit/debit card 4.95%
Foreign exchange fee on relevant purchases 2%

But as ShooterSF pointed out these rates would still be quite small when booking a very cheap flight.

Eg. If you found a flight for say €8 return you would be charged €20 by Ryanair to book it but you would only pay 7.7% to Entropay which is approx 60 cent.

However on the more expensive flights you would not be saving at all.
