Maths Paper 2. Our teacher decided to leave constructions until the last 10 minutes of our final maths class so I haven't a clue. I find the last 5 theorems impossible to remember and trigonomentry just does not make sense in my brain. So yeah, trying not to think about that one for a few days. Also History because I got 95 in the pres so even a B now would seem like an epic failure.

I was worried about everything this week (except geography), especially Irish. English was okay, the Irish was...as expected, the maths was good.
Irish paper 2 now tommorow :O My God I can't wait to dump all my Irish ****. I'm defo doing pass in leaving cert. It's also going to be nice to see the last of business, we got nothing done in class especially relating to accounts.
So Irish and business. In history I was soooo close to an A in my mock, if I don't make an critical cock-ups like in my mock I might make it.

It might be a bit late, but if you can manage to get your head round the constructions and theorems it would be good. If you can understand the theorem you'll be able to make a good stab at it, whereas if you're literally learning off letters it's not going to go into your head. And if you have a look at past papers you might have an idea of which ones are going to come up.

If you got 95 in the pre, you should be ok! I only started learning the majority of the history course in the week or so before the JC and came out with an A.

Thanks, I do definitely have to get my head around theorems alright, easy marks once you know them. It's going to be a fun weekend...

Business and Maths 2. I am crap at trigonometry and remembering theorems, so I think I'm screwed. I had a good paper one though, so hopefully even if I don't do great on paper 2 I'll still get a pass. I got a C on paper 1 in the mock, but failed paper 2 so badly I failed the subject. :s

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 39 omgz

I'm scared about SCIENCE and BUSINESS.
Both are ones I only got a C in, in my mocks.
    I'm really worried about these...
    :(

Really? The actual exams only 50% though, and most of it's just common sense. I regret picking it too though because it's just a joke of a subject...

I got 41%, but I think I'm worse off now than before the mocks, as we have had a teacher change since then and we're all a bit clueless now

After Business and French nothing else is worrying me, languages and working with maths means study and I hate studying.

Science and History is just a memory game

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,553 ✭✭✭soccymonster

Can't wait for the cspe test tommorrow, I need a good aul laugh!..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,992 ✭✭✭✭partyatmygaff

Don't give bull answers though or whatever or you will not get an A no matter how easy it is.
The results have to be in a bell curve so the best answers get an A

I was most worried for maths and for irish because my teacher is an idiot and never taught us anything. Next thing I'm worried for is home ec and history because we never got the course anywhere near finished. Does anyone know how to write a good history or home ec answer? Or links?

I'm bricking it about home ec too so yes advice on that horrid yoke of a subject would be lovely.

For history just start form the start and throw in all the information you know no matter how small but try and get the important stuff too ;) Think of it as a line per mark. if it's a 12 mark question do between 12 and 18 lines or something like that. You don't have to end it with a fancy line like "that is why blah blah" or "and that's what blah blah" you can end it with anything as long as it's relevant :) I got 90% in me history mock and that's mostly just what i did :pac:

cool thanks.:):D I can't tell if my bad mock history mark was me or an angry examiner.

your'e scared of the home ec exam?
i I think that will be easy enough.. remeber 50% of it is done so if you can rake up another 10/15% then you got yourself a C!..
Not going to bother studying until night before..:D

heres some things that you might not know though..

    Long Questions
Q.1. Evaluation of nutritional value of foods
Q.2. Usually something about food groups
    Q.3. Consumer Studies
    Q.4. Social && Health Studies
Q.5. Efficiency In The Home (eg.)room planning, insulation, lighting etc.
    Q.6. Fibres && Fabrics

Well it wasn't nearly as bad as I was worrying beforehand :). Honour at least methinks. What'd you think?

Other than Business the only other one I have been properly concerned about is History. 49% in the Mocks. They were the only two I didn't get an Honour in.

I need to learn me some essays ;)

Was pleasantly suprised bout paper 1. Just came in and checked my layout from the Trading,Profit and loss Appropraition A/C and Balance sheet and from what i remember i filled most things in right so..
Id be delighted with an honour, think i might have just got one.
History im absolutly terrified abou I got 42% in the mocks.:o U do science? I got 21% in the mock so another disastrous (sp?) subject for me!

After French tomorrow I'm totally done all I care about. History, Science and metalwork are as my metalwork teacher described as important as the "knob on the top of a walking stick". Yes he's a little strange :)
