Hunger between meals - what to do?

Do you think it's better (if you're trying to lose weight) to not eat between meals? I know the current advice is to snack, or eat smaller meals more frequently, but mightn't this just fuel hunger?

I find that my stomach starts rumbling an hour or two after breakfast (even if I have a good one with eggs and stuff) but if I ignore that it goes away and I don't feel hungry again for another hour or two. What do you think?

Hmmm. If you really feel hungry just snack, but make sure you count calories and have a cut off point. 1,000,000 is what I recommend!

1: Eat slowly, eat half your meal and go off for five minutes, then come back. Chew for longer.

2: Drink water, drink loads of water and it probably will help!

Snacking is a winner IMO. It means you're hungry for shorter periods of time.

How much fibre do you have in your diet? Between pills and the psyllium husks you must spend half the day on the jacks.

Lost some weight recently, dunno about the current teachings but for me all snacks were cut out. Three meals a day.
Drank tea between meals when I felt hungry, dont feel like snacking as much now, think my metabolism has slowed??

My advice - tea or water.
    No smoothies - poison.
    Good luck.

What's wrong with smoothies? I'm into the habit of making one myself after workouts. Some milk, nat yogurt, strawberries, banana, couple of scoops of whey and some psyllium husk = awesomeness.

i'd say it would be pretty safe to disregard his post! its a personal observation as opposed to widely accepted logic
