Hi all - I'm heading away to Sardinina for a few weeks and was thinking about packing a tub of whey protein and a packet of psylium husks in my luggage.

Will these look suspicious? Anyone done this before?

    Thanks,

    R

Should be fine, I would stick them in luggage in the hold, not in hand luggage, and leave labels on if possible. I had a jar of washing powder I got stopped with, looked like a load of coke! they just believed me. They might even make you eat some, I had to drink water on some flights, and almost had to drink cointreau but the bottle was sealed.

Why not leave the whey behind and enjoy the varied and tasty local food?

I've done it no problem, but then had maybe two shakes in the three weeks, hardly worth carting over a 4lbs tub lol

A guy I know got stopped for having it in his hand luggage and got it confiscated, this was just after the liquid bomber scandal in the UK so they may have eased off on it a little. That said, I would still defo put it into your suitcase if you were bringing it.

Personally, I don't understand why anyone would want to bring protein with them on holidays. For me, a holiday is a holiday, and is about getting a break from the regular stuff I do in life. Plus, do you really intend to train when you're over there? If you ain't training, I defo wouldn't bother!

    Have always wondered about this.

I travel to the UK quite often and I'm pretty sure I could get my supply of protein/creatine cheaper over there but I never risked it in case I would have any trouble coming through the airport on the way home..

To be honest I've never been keen on buying stuff like that (anything I will ingest) from the internet. Prefer to actually walk into a shop and get it.

Although I'm sure there are loads of internet sites with very good products.

They're the same products.... most shops just nearly double the price... imo you're mad not to buy online (unless of course money is no object)

As the lads have said the internet and p&p solves this issue.

However you should not have an issue with a tub of protein powder.

I also agree that if on hols leaving the tub behind is not such a bad idea. 2 weeks without a tub of whey will not make your gains dissapear. You'll probably eat more meat on hols anyway as you've more time and someone else is preparing it!

I'd be more inclined to bring the fat loss tabs with me!:D
