As far back as I can remember Bruce never has a support act.

Bruce doesn't need a support act.All his concerts I have been to up to now have featured only the Boss and his band. You will have a great time:)

No support and he starts pretty much bang on time. On the two occasions that I have seen him in Dublin he's delivered an almost 3 hour show. Fantastic shows. You won't be disappointed and I'm not even a big fan myself!

    cool, cheers guys!

Wouldn't say bang on time exactly, I remember last year Aiken continually re-stated he'd be on eight sharp, and it was generally just before half eight each night. Guess they just wanted to make sure people were in their seats. Lot of waiting around at Bruce gigs if you're standing, not that it's not entirely worth it :p

Why not give a young Irish band a big break and let them do the support.
Are you listening Mr Aiken?(I'm not in a band btw but do go to lots of gigs)
Why not suggest some young up and coming Irish bands here,i'll start with "The Looks"

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,049 ✭✭✭Driver 8

It's not an Aiken decision, Springsteen never has support wherever he goes (with the exception of some festivals he's currently playing obviously)

Anyone who has ever seen him live knows that he needs no warm-up act.

When he walks onstage on July 11th and counts in the intro to 'Badlands' a frenzy will ensue and from then on, it's 3 hours of pure unadulterated E-Street joy

Bruce dose not have support and dosent need them. He is the most amazing show man. Enjoy the concert:)

    Exactly,

that rush you get is beyond words,

    he usually clocks 2 1/2 hours- 3 1/4 hours,

longest I have been at was just hitting the three hour mark,

    boy what a gig :D,

    you will enjoy every minute...

I have seen Bruce every time he played hear and it just blows your mind. The enengry of a man who is almost 60.....
The gig that stays with me the most is the Tom Joad tour in the point. We got put on the guest list by the Boss himself, seated slap bang middle of the front row.... Amazing:):):)

going to the gig on the sunday nights . where a good place to go b4 hand . anybody going for a few pints before hand. should be a great gig if his last ones were anything to go on. seen him in the rds bout 3 times now missed the gigs in the point back then. any ideas to the set list on the night

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,058 ✭✭✭JJ

His setlist changes every night usually but you can follow the set lists on his tour on his official site here:

Going to see him and Neil Young in Hyde Park in just two weeks, should be a good warm up for the RDS. Some of the Swedish gigs clocked in at just over 3 hours, 31 songs or so :D

I'll be in the line early, and I'll have my few cans with me, but the pub right across from the R.D.S is usually packed before the gig, and the prices went up the last time there,

always thought that was agaisnt the law to up prices in that way...

I saw him in the first night in Stockholm, and he brilliant, so much so I completely forgot it was bucketing down right through the gig. Can't wait for July now.

Same as, hes kickin it alright!

Seen him last year, and going again this year, should be epic!

Does anyone know what the story is with cameras at his concerts? Last year I didnt bring any but I seen 1 or 2 people with some pretty substantial lenses on them, camera bags and all.
Id love to bring my DSLR and take a few snaps, anyone know if its allowed?

Heading to the two Dublin gigs and the final night of his run closing down Giants Stadium in October, they looked amazing on the box tonight and collectively looked to be really enjoying it. Noticed he doesn't have the wife on tour with him.

The only concern is the health of Clarence, didn't look to steady on his feet tonight and judging by the closeness of himself and Springsteen which is constantly evident you'd have to wonder would it be the end of the ESB if The Big Man had to call it a day.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 183 ✭✭claireloopy

He played like half an hour over time tonight looked like he could have went on forever. No wife hm does this mean I still have a chance?

If you're up near the front and spotted by security you'll be told to stop taking pictures. It definitely wasn't allowed last year, I'd imagine it'll be the same this year.

you`ll have no problem with a camera the only ones they dont like are the professional ones and video cameras of course

Hmmmm, i wouldnt really count it as a professional camera, though its not a point and click one. Its a Nikon D40. Id be bringing the Body of the camera, and the lens on the right of that pic, nothing major, but defo more then a compact camera.

Id wouldnt be right up the front, but somewhere in the pit ideally.

Im more worried about them stopping me at the entrance to the arena, when the pat you down and search bags etc, what to do if they stop me there with it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,299 ✭✭✭villains77

any time i had the camera with me i used put it into my jacket and carry it into the venue never said to me do i have a camera and was never searched. or put it in your jeans pocket and take ur fone and leave it in jacket usually works i brought my camera to the gig last time i saw him in rds cant wait only 2 weeks to go. :D

Here's an idea, how about everybody leaves their cameras at home and their phones in their pockets and just enjoys the gig.

The only asses are the ones who hold their cameras/phones up for most of the gig and then go online afterwards and say, "Look at my crappy, blurry, shaky pictures/videos from the gig."

    Hi folks

Driving up from Limerick to the Springsteen concert on the Saturday. Just wondering is there reasonable amounts of street parking in the vicinity of the arena? I believe they have a car park, but just in case thats full.

    thanks...

Guys any of you know where i can get rid of two of his tickets. toutless wont work for me as i am not a regular poster. Anyone know anywhere online? Im so disgusted i can't go.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,058 ✭✭✭JJ

Considering both shows are sold out last I checked, you should not have a problem. I'm suprised Toutless hasn't worked. There should be plenty of people with Want Ads you can contact. If that doesn't work, there's always Gumtree, eBay, Buy & Smell et al.

Are there any shuttle buses going out to the rds, before and after the gig? Or what bus gets me out that direction?

Or should I man up and walk from stephens green down to the RDS?
