    Oooo the dreaded letter. Really don't want to have to repeat anything but the nagging feeling lies within :(

    Oh to have studied in apr/may :o

    Hahaha! I bet you were so relieved!

    Haha yep :D I could feel my heart beat slowing down.

    I know 100% I failed economics and I got no letter so I don't think they send letters out? Unless my guess work was amazing and I got a compensatory fail? ;]

    Nothing here yet...

    Still 2 days left though :(

    To be honest, I don't really care about anything other than Marketing...

    As long as I pass everything else I'm happy :)

    Sure would suck to have to repeat though...

    i am pretty sure i failed something too but i ahve been told that it is very very hard to fail outright in ul apparently the lecturers will do their level best to make it a compensation so if you did even a small bit better than you think you might be suprised and get a d2.....thats what im hoping for i know i gota d2 in the actual exam im just hoping the course work dosnt drag me below 30%

    (seriously though we should be ashamed of ourselves not being able to get what effectively is a 30% pass rate)

    aww well there is always next year to make up for it

    Tick, tock, tick tock...Its getting closer to results time :D

    Who's getting nervous?
    Probably me cos I'm the one writing this, but meh, as I've said before, nothing I can do to change them now...

    Bring on Monday, and being back in Limerick Tuesday! :D

    I will not be checking mine till after I come back from holidays:] Don't wanna be depressed about my results next week.
    But yeah I know I did well in biochemistry so that will make up for economics :].
    Next year I'm going to work!

    I'm guessing letters are arriving tomorrow then?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 172 ✭✭fivetwenty

    Anyone get letters today?

    Postman just flew by there, so I'm safe for one more.

    BTW- If I get nothing tomorrow, can I assume that I passed everything and it's not a PO screw-up?

    Got my letter this morning.
    Failed 2 modules. :(
    Don't understand the Student Status Committee part?

    What's the story with that?

    Oh and if anyone here is a dab hand at working out QCA's etc could really do with a hand working out potential QCA for degree award...:)

    A1 = 4.0
    A2 = 3.6
    B1 = 3.2
    B2 = 3.0
    B3 = 2.8
    etc....

    Each module is usually worth 3 credits, therefore in say 2nd year your whole year will equal 36 credits (3 x 12 modules). If you get a B1 for 6 modules and a B2 for the other 6; your QCA is calculated as follows:

    (3.2 x 6 mods) + (3.0 x 6 mods) x 3 (credit per mod.)= QCA of 3.1
    36 credits

    In 3rd and 4th year results are double-weighted so say for 3rd year you would have:

    (3.2 x 6) + (3.0 x 6) x 3 (creds) x 2 = QCA of 3.1
    36 x 2

    If seems more complicated than it is :)
