Just started on my first loading phase of creatine. Been taking it in orange juice 5 times daily. I'm just wondering is it essential to blend it or is there any alternitaves because I've only been stirring and theres always residual powder left in the glass. And I read somewhere that you should avoid taking it with juice, true??

    Thanks alot

you can take it with whatever really.... but when combined with pretty much anything apart from water it tends to cause gas. Protein+creatine together in a shake isn't good for your belly, I don't care what the supplement companies say

when you get near the end and theres a gulp left, shake it to mix the powder up from the bottom then down it, shouldn't be any bits at the bottom unless its sticking

I wouldn't bother doing the loading phase, its excessive and is of no use. Your body can only absorb so much of the stuff, anything else you just p*ss out - p*ssing money away really cos you'd be going through a tub very fast when you do loading phase. Just take it once a day and it will do the same job.

Best thing to take it with is Glucose/Dextrose (simple sugars are a delivery agent for it, similar to alcohol in Creatine Ethyl Ester and alkalyn in Kre Alkalyn), you can buy it in any chemist and in a few Supermarkets. Put it into a shaker and mix it up well to avoid residue.

It's never given me any problem! I take it with RAM after training, which is ideal because theres simple sugars in there and protein.

Glucose is in the baby food section in supermarkets, sometimes in the baking section or with sugar or cooking chocolate.

Also people use grape juice which is about 15% sugar, while apple or orange is 11%.

If I had any left I would just add a little water, swirl it up and neck it.

One of the no-no's for creatine back at the start was never mix with OJ as the acid in the OJ would destroy the Creatine. Stomach acid may be more acidic than OJ!:)

The mixability of your creatine will be down to it's particle size. If it is a fine micronised powder then it should mix perfectly with no residue.

With creatine I always put the 5 grams or so in a small amount of water (100mls) and then had a pint or so of water/cordial after that.
