There's been model agency reps (don't know the deal with them) hanging around Grafton Street for the last few days. If you're about there someday, they might be able to give you an answer.

Although someone here can probably give you a better answer.

Most Irish models don't get more than a few hundred a day and its rather hit and miss.

In my experience, most payment was by the hour rather than the day (as most shoots don't take all day), and the starting payment was $50 an hour (US dollars). For all day work, it started at $300 - 500 a day.
Those numbers are for local modeling/smaller scale jobs.

It depends on the work, the client and the agency, but there's good money to be made from it. I was shooting last Sunday, model was hired through Assets afaik (Designer/stylist hired) and she got 300-400 for 4 hours work, all expenses paid.

It's not easy work. Especially fashion shows, which are quite often the lowest paid jobs in the industry (Not so much in Ireland). Bear in mind there's a lot of different 'types' of model - everything from glamour (Baulk - Irish glamour) to fashion, to runway, commercial and so on.

Approach it as a handy few bob on the side at first, and see if it's something you want to do.

It's definitely not something you'd want to rely on for income starting off, something as a little extra, yeah, but even still you might only get a few jobs a year. There may even be no film or fashion involved, you may just be chosen to hand out flyers or for promotional work like that.

I'd be very choosy myself and wouldn't want to put my face to anything I didn't feel was a good, ethical, honest product or service. I wouldn't like to do anything too local either and there would be a lot of companies I wouldn't be too fond of working or promoting for.

Just fwiw, there's a scam or three associated with modeling agencies. Make sure they're a reputable company first, and see what they want re: your portfolio polaroids. A common enough scam going about was to find 30/40 young women, tell them they're potential models, and to come along for a test shoot. When you come in, you're told the test shoot is anything from 80 to 300 quid, you get 4 small (bad) photos back, and are told to wait for a call to start working. Often working out of hotels.

Oh I know the risk, besides, I'm a face for radio. Even if they are a scam, they'll have some information to be gleaned.
