    im 110kg 5ft11 basically huge.
    startin dietin and joinin gym day after the leavin cert try slim up for me debs in october
    im confused about the droppin to 1200 cals diet thing as how long u should be on it and what would happen wen u got back to the normal 2500.
    or if i should be even thinkin about it if thts too drastic
    And a last q tea wit average milk i love tea and hope i aint gotta cut it out

    You should NOT be on 1200 calories a day. That would be suicidal at your weight in my opinion. You should lose weight at a much higher maintanance calorie level if your diet is good

    ok just confused on it people sayin cut calorie intake n the like .the maths formula or whatever in the sticky works around 3500 thts rounded off so wht should i be cuttin 700ish or

    Reduce current calorie intake by 500-1000 calories and eat healthier food. When you start working out your calorie burn will increase and combination of reducing calorie intake and exercise will help you gradually and sustainably lose weight/fat and gain lean muscle. When you stop losing fat then it will be time to lower calorie intake further and/or increase exercise. Look to lose an average of around 2lb a week.

    You should not have a deficit of more than a 1000. 500-1000 as above poster stated. This can be achieved through diet and exercise. Ideally you should create your deficit from both. for example if you were going on a 500 deficit you would consume 3000 calories and you could cut maybe 250 cal fro your food and burn 250 from exercise

    Try to get your calories from whole, nourisihng foods - lean meat, veg , fruit, legumes, healthy fats. read the stickies as a starting point

    IMO you should Never do anything that you cant see yourself maintaining long term.
