I drank a gallon a day for about 5 weeks, my squats got way stronger, my belly got way flabbier, I coughed a lot of phlem and I ****ing loved it!

Though I don't have the body type where I can get away with it. The weight gain was too rapid for me.

This is an awkward one for me.
I have just started, but I have next to no milk products in my diet.

I dont like them (bar cheese)
I get sinus congestion (blocked nose, sinus ache, snotty) when I consume it
I also get really bad breath from milk fat.

But I'm not gonna pretend I know more and deny the benefits.

    Its annoying me.

    Screw it.

I'm sure I can treat the symptoms.

I'd no problem with the milk, didn't gain too much flab and threw on a bit of muscle. Spending over an hour in the gym annoyed me a bit.

If you have problems with the milk at the start you should gradually phase it in.

Find someone to train with as SS workouts take ages and it's good to talk to someone during rest periods. This take your attention away from the fact that you have to get back under the big iron thing that wants to crush you.

If you know how to eat well and are eating enough calories there is no reason you should need to drink a gallon of milk a day. Seems like a sure fire way of giving yourself an intolerance.

I've increased my milk consumption from none to some but no way I'll force a gallon into myself a day.

I'd have serious trouble getting an extra 2400 odd calories eating "well". That's a lot of broccoli.

If you have no problems with intolerance then there should be no issues with the milk. If it becomes a problem then stop. There's little point in not drinking it because of a bunch of stuff that might happen.

You'd be surprised. There is nothing like Milk (that's right, capital M) to help you grow and get stronger. From personal experience I added 70kg to my squat with Westside and 2-3 litres of milk a day over the course of 6 months. I can't produce a scientific reason for it but there is no way I'd have been able to recover and keep getting better if the milk wasn't there. I don't think replacing the milk with the equivalent protein value of chicken would have produced the same results.

I know it's meant for cows but it is quite literally natures growth-juice.

I've heard of all the benefits and I do find it a good source of protein and carbs. Very easy to ingest as well....but a GALLON!

That being said, if one did want to add 2400 calories to their diet, I suppose its probably the easiet way :)

It's a short term thing. I don't drink as much now, probably a litre a day though.

This is what happened me, although I was only drinking 2 liters. It coincided with exams and essays and general poor eating though so adding 1000 cals from milk was just the cherry on top of a massive daily calorie intake.

I don't think its a lactose thing though.

That tends to affect the stomach more.
    Its more the mucus thing.
