Print Server Problem

Hi there, A new print server was deployed last week from Double Take image but it lost two of our main network printers. I can add them but I don’t have a clue what the original share name was. When I go to a work station to get the printer properties it says "printer not available Access denied". Is there anyway of…

Hi there,

A new print server was deployed last week from Double Take image but it lost two of our main network printers. I can add them but I don’t have a clue what the original share name was. When I go to a work station to get the printer properties it says "printer not available Access denied". Is there anyway of finding the original share name. The server path is identical to the old print server. It would just save me adding the printers to 30+ users.

In a PC's command window

cscript c:\windows\system32\prnmngr.vbs -l

(That's an L. Run "cscript c:\windows\system32\prnmngr.vbs" for a list of other options, such as adding and deleting printers. )
