    The Poker Room Celbridge presents.

    The Poker Room Main Event

    Attention all players!

If you have not been lucky enough to win your seat at this year’s World Series of Poker don’t fret you can still win a bracelet even if you’re not on your way to Vegas this July!

We at the Poker Room are giving members a chance to play the same game at a fraction of the cost.

The starting stack and structure will be the exact same as the W.S.O.P. main event with two small adjustments.
The buy in will be an affordable €200 + €20 and the blind levels on day one will be 60min instead of 120min. The rest of the tournament will have an identical structure from the start of day two as the W.S.O.P main event.

Day one will commence on Friday 03.07.09 at 19:00 in the Poker Room Celbridge.

Day two will commence in Celbridge on Saturday 04.07.09 at 16:00 all remaining players are requested to be on the premises 30 min before the start of play for redraw and to check their stack.

All going well we will reach the final table by the end of day two. At this point we will stop play, check stacks redraw for final table and bring back those lucky remaining players on Sunday.

Start time on Sunday will depend on the time play stops on the previous evening.

    Ok so to recap,

Event starts on Friday 03.07.09 and will be a three day event with the final table being played on the Sunday
    Buy In €200 + €20 Freeze Out
    Starting stack 30,000
Blind levels on Day 1 are 60 min and from day two 120min.

I am hoping so but not confirmed yet,

    Will keep you posted,

Looks good, I thing missing though imo: a guaranteed prizepool...

Why not get a sponsor in, start online sats and offer a guaranteed prizepool and whatever else the sponsor is prepared to offer. Take Vegas Nights €150 tourney just gone: guaranteed prizepool, online sats, vegas package up for grabs.

Gtd prizepool?? There is no way in a million years that this wont get 90 runners. The lads should have gtd a prizepool but i dont think it will have any trouble filling up. I wouldnt be a fan of online sats if its a first come first served basis. Just a couple of live sats leading up to the event.

Although John, i much prefer the idea of having a day 1 in Cellbridge and a day 1 in Tallagh to double capacity because i think you'll need it.

If you can pre reg here, put me down please.

    LOL.

As long as the results are given to us in full it meets all of the criterion stated on the IPR website.

If zsoulking can confirm it will be an IPR event.

So this is in one location and limited to 90 runners?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 426 ✭✭pokerkingsni

How about Day 1a, 1b etc? Surely there will be over 90 for this.

Thanks for the pointers we will look into a sponsor and on line sats and let you know about a guarantee. If there is enough interest we would look at two day oneS in Tallaght and Celbridge but for now we want to make it as simple as possible so just Celbridge.

If this event is a success we will look at having a mini series next year with 6-8 Bracelet events all at 20% of the Vegas buy-in but where possible the same structure.

If your planning to play this event could you please respond on this thread so we can plan food and staffing etc. Many thanks.

Most likely playing but this will fill up fast. I think you really should do one in cellbridge and tallaght, now that would be a kick ass tourney. 90 runners max is too small for a tournament with this good a structure and BI. I think you could get 250+

Will defo play in this and can my name be put down if possible.

    Pm sent

looks really good be a lot more than 90 interested i would think

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 803 ✭✭✭flushje

Looks good, however, should 100% have more than 90 players and a Guaranteed prizepool, as you will get both.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,212 ✭✭✭Jaysoose

Just realised im on a family holiday that week and dont get back into dublin till late the saturday night.........Fuppin families.....who needs em!

Good luck with this though looks like a decent structure and a good prize pool should be generated.

    John/Ross,

Please reg me for this tourney.

Agree with everyone who says that this will get more than 90 runners and would probably get 180 if you had day 1 at both Tallaght & Celbridge. If staffing is an issue then I would go with 2 day 1's in Celbridge.

Having both clubs so close together you should deffo consider this as it will both boost the prizepool & create more interest with 2 venues involved.

Anyhow, i'm sure it will be a big success 1 venue or 2.

BTW excellent idea & the white gold bracelet is an excellent touch.

    :D

P.S will the bracelet be diamond encrusted? ;)

After giving it some thought I have decided against a guarantee as there is no guarantee at the Main Event itself. The prize fund is 100% of the all the money collected minus the 10% reg.

With this being said I believe this will be the best value tournament of the year.

We will be adding to the prizepool the following.

    1. White 9ct gold Main Event engraved braclet, custom made. Value €700

    2. A €1,000 sponsorship to buy in to Irish Tournaments if you agree to wear luck box clothing (you will also get the clothes for free up to €300.)

    3. We will be adding a mini quad bike for the best hand of the tournament
Value €600. (similar to the bike given away at the "best of boards")

    4. Also the winner will get a qaulity framed 30" by 26" Poker pic of their achievment €125 value. (similar to the framed pics on the wall of the club)

The winner will also have a two page profile on "The Poker Revolution" a new onlive interactive poker magazine launching in June.

In addition to the added value it will also be one of the best structures in Ireland this year as it mirrors the main event. It will also be an Irish Ranking event.

The event will be covered live on boards with regular updates and pictures. (We will also have regular updates from vegas.)

We also believe with our new venue and staff it will be a very well run and enjoyable event and we will keep you fed and watered for the duration.

As I said if this event is successful we will look at running a series of events next year with sponsorship.

    Thanks Ross.

Fair play Ross you can't ask for better value than that :)

Just to confirm is it a single day 1 limited to 90 players? Either way i'm 100% inski....

Definitly like to play this one aswell. IMO it would be realistic to expect 250+ if your cappable of hosting it. Is there definitly going to be a cap on numbers if there is a huge interest?

can you keep a seat for me. Can i pre-reg to guarantee a seat for this?

But for now 1 day 1 in Celbridge,

We will get a list going soon so you can add your name to the bottom.

In the next few days we will also provide an online provider to take deposits and hopefully run sats. Will give details when it is confirmed.

    Many thanks
