    Hi,

Just wondering if I am losing enough BF% in a one month period, so give you a bit of background. 32 year old female, going to gym 3-4 times a week, have a fitness log on the go, monitoring my diet and gym work, dont think it's too bad. Last month I was measured using a calipers and was 33%bf after getting a gym program and a month later it droped down to 31%bf. Would this be average bf loss????

It's very hard to judge. To be honest, I'd forget the actual number and go by things like your waist size. Inches lost on your waist is lost bodyfat.

    What weight are you?

A 2% bodyfat reduction for someone who is obese will be a lot different that a 2% bodyfat reduction for someone who is pretty lean and fit.

    Aim for 1lb per week. This is 4lbs per month & almost 2kg. 1kg = 2.2lbs.

You are going in the right direction anyway.

Do you have a food log? Do you use www.fitday.com to track your food intake?

Thanks alot for your replies, I weighted 67kgs when I got the first test done and my weight didnt change at all, so presume am both losing fat and building muscle at the same time????
I have a food log on the fitness logs there and have just started using fitday.com today would you believe.

The 'average' is dependent on a huge amount of factors. Even the caliper testing is highly dependent on the tester's measuring skills.

The real questions: do your clothes fit better? Looking better in the mirror.

The very best advice on this I can give you is to take photos You won't believe the differences in physique a set of photos can show you.

The measuring tape is the best guide to loosing fat - once the person taking the measurements knows what their doing! Get the same person to re-check as people differ in areas measured. Because your body weight can fluctuate during the day try and take it in the morning (3 times in the week and get an average) - but again body weight loss may not mean body fat loss. An obese person could loose up to six stone plus in a year but an the average woman would find it very difficult to increase muscle mass by 10lbs in a year - so it is unlikely you will build muscle as quick as loose fat. Having a meal or drinking fluids close to your second weigh in could have added body weight so you may well be 66kg or below. As said by the other posters - how your clothes fit can be the best indication of fat loss - calipers/body fat readers are frequently inacurate. keep up the training and diet and if you ever think you can't do it just call Barrack Obama and he'll put you right!
