Seeing as a lot of pubs are doing special deals at the moment, I thought it would be good to share the knowledge.

Here are a couple of the deals I have seen.

O'Reillys (beside Tara Street Dart station) has €3.40 on all pints all the time

The Vaults in the IFSC has half price on all rinks from 5-8pm on a Friday evening.

The woollshed is €10 all the time for pitchers (3 pints) of fosters.

Feel free to post some deals you have noticed yourselves but please include the times the deal applies for

    good idea folks!!

i know that the Brogue Pub in Oliver Plunkett Street Cork has e2.90 on all pints up to 9pm, think it's 7 days a week too, but open to correction. also heard the The Classic Bar nearby is also doing a similar deal. our money was never so important so spend it wisely!!!!!!!

    Personally I wouldn't go near O'Riellys.

Also the Pitchers in the Woolshed never amount to three pints for me.

I like the thread idea though.

Pygmallion on South William has pitchers of Bavaria for €10, Solas also has their Solas Lite for €3.50. Both offers all the time I think.

Anyone notice how the quality of the pub drops in line with price offers?

Was there the other week. The cocktails have so little booze in them it's not funny.

Citi Bar on Dame st is €2 on any drink every Tuesday night.....but is a tenner in.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 301 ✭✭colsku

A pretty grim bar/nightclub for Divorcees called Barry's Hotel on North Great Denmark Street (I think)... It's behind the Ambassador and opposite the Belvedere Hotel...

Anyway, pints of Guinness are 3 euro in there, all the time I think. Lager pretty cheap too.

Was in there at about 7pm on a Sat - got IDed aged 25 and some hassle from the bouncers - had some nice pints and also saw a lovely Asian girl down a pint of Guinness in one go!!

If you've ever seen that place in Intermission where all the aul' ones go, and you're looking for something similar, check that place out.

    Rubber up!!

We had a BGRH beers in Karma, Fishamble St. on Friday last.

Longnecks were €3, pints were around €4.20 all night.

Not a bad spot, a bit out of the way, but would most certainly go back.

Worth noting that Diceys have a €5 cover charge, not sure when it starts but I had to pay it at about 10pm last Thursday.

And that any other night, it's near €6 a pint, and it's €8.50 for a mixed drink. Man was I annoyed when I ordered a G&T!

And thursdays. TBH selling fosters isnt really a bargain alert, but:
Monday - 10eur in after 8pm, but all drinks 2eur.
    Thursday - 5eur in after 8pm, all drinks 3eur.

Last time I was out watching a champions league match, McTurcaills off Tara St. were doing a special on pints (€3 or €3.50, can't remember). They have a big screen projector as well.

Sorry to be a wet blanket, but I noticed some of the deals are timed (7-9 or whatever), but aren't "happy hours" illegal in Ireland?

Porterhouse on the Quays €4 any of their own brewed pints.

Darkey Kellys fishamble st. Just say to barman "Is the Dublin city council deal still on for all pints €4". This should get you this discount. Think its Mon-Sun.

They might ask for I.D....Blagg it and say you forgot it.

Gingerman (behind Trinity) has Beamish and Franciscian Well beers for 3.50 a pint, expensive for anything else though.

The Living Room has pitchers of the beers on tap though the last two times I've been there the beers i got tasted like they'd been in taps for ages.

The Czech Inn in templebar used to always have a cheapish random eastern european beer but haven't been in a few months so can't say (was Kozel and stuff like that, that i think they were tryin to get rid of)

    Shakespear/Hop House have cheap Bavaria

    Oi! Wet Blanket...shhhh! ;)

You're right, happy hours are illegal but they are slowly creeping back in if this thread is anything to go by. Might be something to do with the cosy relationship that FF enjoy with publicans. In any case its good for the beer consumer :p

To answer the champions league question some one asked a few posts back

D2 is doing 3 euro bottles of heineken for about 2 1/2 hours around the match or the Barge is doing 4 euro pints all nite!

Porterhouse Central €2 off all cocktails on Mondays.

Also free splash with all spirits Sunday-Monday (possibly Sunday-Wednesday, not too sure).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,885 ✭✭✭Stabshauptmann

I think its c.unty for a bar to charge for the splash in the first place

Dandelion do VAT-free drinks Mon-Fri, and €5 cocktails. Probably not a great price for a pint, but considering it applies to all alcohol I reckon it's a good deal.

Also their site says "EVERY MONDAY NIGHT IN THE BAR EACH TIME YOU BUY A DRINK WE BUY YOU 1 BACK" which is a weird way of saying "Buy One Get One Free" it would seem.

Ruaille Buaille on South King St, formerly the Down Under Bar has been doing all drinks €3.50 this includes a spirit & mixer.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 205 ✭✭ceannair06

Dandelion's offer is a good un - try to avoid the "cocktails" in TFI Fridays.

I've sprayed on stronger perfume - like kid's drinks!

I know its not "bargain" per se, but I love the Duke off Dawson Street, prices round the fiver mark but table service and even on a mad pay day Friday you'll get served easy.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,399 ✭✭✭✭ThunbergsAreGo

How much do the dandelion pints work out as?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 205 ✭✭ceannair06

They're VAT free so about 20% off.

Pints are 4.30, and well worth it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,252 ✭✭✭Africa

Its a shame to see that 4.30 is considered good these days...

Go for Karma still. only 3 quid and a late bar now :)

Think Tank (below the Mezz in Temple Bar) do all drinks for €2 during the week. €7 door charge.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,357 ✭✭✭snappieT

Doyles (upstairs anyway) on Fridays and Saturdays are doing free mixers with any short, including Red Bull (and Pepsi, Orange, Blackcurrant etc.).

That place under Stephens Green shopping centre that used to be called Major Toms had a sign outside that said pints were 3.50 till 12 every night. I did not go in though.

This is the same for fibbers on monday nights, tenner in and €2 drinks although apparently if you get there before 8 its free in but the €2 drinks don't start till 8.

Also fiver in and €3 drinks on thursday. And its always €3.50 for a pint of bavaria (if people don't mind drinkin it)

Hey, does anyone fancy doing a pub crawl on the cheapest pubs in Dublin (say the top 8).

We could get the averages for say 8 popular drinks, and find the cheapest pubs based on that, and reward these cheap pubs!

Suggestions for drinks to base our averages on:

    Pint of Guinness
    Pint of Smithwicks
    Pint of Heineken
    Pint of Carlsberg
    Pint of Bulmers
    Pint of Miller
    Gin & Tonic
    Vodka & Coke
    JD & Coke

Maybe not all pubs would have these drinks, so take maybe, their best 8 from this list?

And maybe we should just limit it to pubs that DON'T charge in
