My exercise bike went and broke so I started running - the change of scenery is nice, it was going fine for the first week, I took it pretty easy to start - 30 mins morning and evening walk 400 run 600 walk run etc got the usual new exercise muscle aches but they were fading - I didn't get a chance to buy a good pair of shoes - no money till tomorrow just threw on something I found under the stairs, anyway I went and tweaked something yesterday

When I plant my right foot I get a sharp stabbing pain in my lower left back just above my left ass cheek the area is also tender and painfull to the touch.

I'm assuming a couple of days rest will see it right but just wondering if anyone would know what could be wrong ?

Sounds like a slight muscle tear, plenty of ice and rest for a few days and when the pain is gone get back into it-with proper runners..
