Training while sore?

I'm getting back into the gym after some six weeks off -- two weeks travelling, a week of post-travel illness, and a week or two of unjustifiable laziness. After a couple of light evenings in the gym, I had my first proper lifting session Tuesday. Predictably, I was aching Weds, so went for a light swim. Today I'm even more sore (quads and shoulders -- from cleans -- in particular). The question is, should I press on tonight? How much muscular soreness is acceptable before training the same muscle again?

Best advice you can get to help with doms is to repeat the movent you did throughout the day - so if your sore from squats - do the squat movement.. Don't strech the next the day as it will only make it worse.

If you do train - do a longer warm up - and work up to your max, rather then just diving straight in. even if you only hit 2 reps at your max you will have worked pretty hard imo
