Are caffeine tablets banned in the Republic? I'm looking to build an ECA stack but cannot find caffeine tablets anywhere.
Would a cup or two of coffee give the same effect or should it be in tablet form only?
    Thanks for any advice.

Now that you mention it, I've never seen them available here. They were in every newsagents when I lived in england. You can get em here too http://www.myprotein.co.uk/capsules-tablets-softgels/weight-loss/caffeine-pro/

I find it odd that you've managed to get ephedrine and not caffeine :).

"The Power of the Internet!! :-)
Didn't think to order Caffeine tablets at the same time as I assumed you could get them in the shops here.

Do you know whether coffee would do the trick instead?

Huh - you can get them. I think there is a ProPlus brand or something like that. i remember popping a couple of them bad boys for my first year college exams (along with redbull, coffee and lucozade - not a good look, think night of the living dead!).

Not sure where you get them, but i would imagine you're local pharmacy?

Holland and Barret do guarana tablets, tinctures, etc....same difference just sourced from a different plant plant than coffee beans.

Ya, you can get Proplus in Boots. On a side note, why is this in the fitness forum? Are you using them to boost your ability to exercise?

Yes, I'm looking for them for running, but also to lose some weight while i'm at it. A double whammy so to speak!! ;-)

I went into boots today and they said they don't sell proplus anymore. Would have expected there to be some equivalent for students, etc.

I got my caffeine tablets off bodybuilding.com and i dont know whether its placebo or not, but they're nearly my fav supplement.

Does anyone know the science behind caffeine?
Can you take one a day, say before college, to give you a pep?
Or can you get too accostomed to it by doing this and become 'immune' to it for lack of a better word?

    Thanks!

The supplement store on Camden St. (next door to Fitness Dock) had them in stock last time I was there. I'm almost certain I remember seeing them in the one on Westmorland St. too.

Apart from the stimulant effect one of the most useful features of caffeine is as a recovery enhancer by acting as a glycogen shuttle http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8250871?dopt=Abstract

Did you ask for caffeine pills? proplus is just a brand. Many people working in chemists are disgracefully ignorant of what they are selling. It would be like you going in looking for panadol and them saying they don't have it, neglecting to tell you of the 10 other paracetomols they do have. You should always ask for generic brands, they can be far cheaper and do the same thing.

Did you go for the red or the blue pill? you might end up down the rabbit hole with an empty wallet and a sore arse if you take the wrong one.
