How exactly do the weights attach to the legs? Never used them before.

What do you want them for? I have heard people advising against them before.

Argos sell them. Used them myself for a while but would advise against them. Your leg tends to jerk to a halt, putting undue pressure on the knee. If you're trying to up the intensity of a walk, try carrying a litre of water in your hand.

Just to strenghten the legs ! After doing alot of running or walking, Ive heard sitting for a few hours with ankle weights attached strenghtens the muscle and may lenghten the bone..Just to all round strenghten the legs I suppose.

They is bad? Woops. I've been using them for over a year now whislt TKD training ony my ankles and on my wrists. Surely they can't be that bad for training on a punch bag or sparring? I find them great for strengthing the legs. Got mine in Star Fitness in Bray.

Squats and deadlifts are going to do a hell of a lot more for leg strength than sitting with weights hanging off your ankles! even just bodyweight squats & lunges would do a lot more for you. I doubt they will lengthen your legs, otherwise builders with heavy steel toe boots would be walking around like basketball players!;)

I expect your swinging leg will have more momentum with the weight, causing you to actively jerk it to stop.

Im surprised your allowed to use them sparring, I used to use them only the bags and for shadow boxing, don't bother anymore cause they take too long to put on between the rounds, I can't see how using them would be any different than heavier gloves and plenty of people shadow box with them so id say your grand.
I can image why jogging with them on your ankles could damage the knees though
