    Hey everyone

I have gotten unfit over the past while and want to get fit again. However, my diet is TERRIBLE!

I've never had a good diet, i very rarely eat fruit and veg or even any meat. I can't cook to save my life.

So while i am going to try to get fit over the summer, can anyone suggest things i can eat which are very easily prepared and i can eat regularly?

I know this seems like a pretty ridiculous thread, but seriously, i have never had a proper diet and i am really trying to get myself healthy.

    Cheers

Well is it that youdon't like fruit veg or can't afford them or just don't know how to prepare them?

First thing, how about smoothies to get some fruit? I take one banana, handful to frozen fruit (€1.99 for a bag in Aldi) and then pour in some orange juice, in a blender for ten seconds and voila.

For veg; I buy onion, brocolli, carrot, peppers. Chop em all up. Place them on a baking tray with tin foil under and maybe place a chicken fillet in the middle. Bake for 10-15 minutes, all the while cooking some pasta (instructions on back). Then chop chicken, and eat with veg and pasta. Maybe add some of those pasta tomato sauces if you want.

Why not tell us what you eat at the moment? Maybe we could build on that. Cut out pizzas and sugary drinks anyway.
And saying 'I can't cook' is like saying 'I can't drive'. No one is born with the info, part of being an adult is learning these things.

Thank you for the very helpful response. I really like those ideas.

Has anyone else got any other ideas?

If you make a menu for yourself- there's no work in it-just pop to your menu ah yea i'll throw that on-simple! Nothing written down means constant effort and guesswork and i'd soon give in and live unhealthy!

Get yourself a packet of Schwatz Chili Con Carne mix, buy the other ingredients listed on the packet, and follow the directions. Should make enough for 3-4 meals, you can freeze or refrigerate the extra and it is even better when re-heated.

Get Basmati rice as it only takes 9 min to cook, tastes better than normal rice and it too freezes and reheats very nicely.
