Hamster Squeaking While Breathing

    Right I was sitting in the living room and started hearing a squeaking noise, on closer inspection I found it was coming from the hamsters cage. I took him out and noticed that the squeaks were louder and quicker depending on his breathing pattern. I've never heard him do anything like this before so its just a bit odd and wondering is there anything that it could be linked to?

    I checked out a few places online that said it could be respiratory problems, or that it could be caused by new bedding.

    Anyone that might have a clue about what I mean or may have had experience with this kind of thing before would be of great help.

    Its Woodlands Pet Bedding, what I have at the moment is the woodflakes, it had been the sawdust before that but the woodflakes have been there a good 2 months which is why I'm thinking that it may not be the cause.
