Any advice on training for a half marathon?

    Hi all,

I've just started training for a half marathon and was hoping I could get some pointers on a training schedule. Im 26 years old and relatively fit from other sports so I'm hoping to get a decent time.

As I'm new to running I haven't a clue how often I should be training - so far I've only been running once a week (last run was 12k) but I'm guessing I should be going more often.

Also can anyone tell me what kind of stuff I should be eating before training and how long before the training should I eat it?

    Thanks
