    Hello Loungers,

I've been a dedicated customer of Urban Wax now for a few years. I find them very good but I went and had my Brazilian last week. It was €60 and someone said that surely I could get it done cheaper than that. Can I? I only want somewhere that does hot wax and am based in Dublin 4 so anywhere in the city centre/south city that you could recommend ladies?

    Thanks a mill

CRIKEY! i forgot how expensive they are! i pay £18 and thats the fanciest most expensive salon in southampton. and thats only if i don't go mon-wed and get a student discount!

horrendous stuff! i have a friend who does beauty stuff, i might see if she'd be interested in getting an ad up on adverts.ie, she could rake it in if she charged 30 or 40 euro!

Is it hot wax or peelable wax?
There's a huge thread on waxing in here somewhere, Lycon is the peelable wax that the salons use, on www.lycon.ie there's a salon list that will tell you which salons use it in Ireland.

Has anyone a testimonial about that lycon stuff via normal stuff used for brazilians?
Its just the salon i go to i get a 30% discount because im a member of the spa, they arent listed as using the lycon wax so am i better off to pay extra for the lycon elsewhere or just get my discount take two neurofen before hand and get over it?!

Well I started getting waxed with Lycon, then i couldn't get an appointment in the salon before my holliers and went to the local salon which only did hot wax with strips, i will never go back from Lycon again.
It was a bloody disaster, I've found theres no clumping of wax with the lycon, and none of it left on your skin afterwards, plus it seems to give a cleaner wax, rather the repeating over an area.
here's some older threads on tLL

I understand Urbana have both options - hot or peelable. I have never tried their latter.

Thanks a mill for replies so far ladies. I meant to clarify, it's the peelable wax I'd prefer as that's what they use in UW.

Also, I've never had a Brazilian with hot wax and strips but I imagine it to be horrific!! Does it have the same results?

Will def try Urbana's midweek deal - excellent value!

+ 1!! Never allow anyone to use warm wax down there(the one you need strips to remove)!!! I did once and it was nasty, I ended up with little yellow bumps on my skin for about a week!! By the time it cleared up the hair had started to grow back!!
Most salons use hot wax anyway for bikini and underarm which is grand but few of them use the lycon wax which is apperantley a better type of hot wax, I have never gotten waxed with it but heard some good things about it! Was thinking of trying it, just checked their site and only 2 salons in Cork use it!
