Ok, so we all know that drinking tea and coffee while on creatine is a no no, as creatine helps you to retain water, and caffine makes your body loose water.

So on that note, is decaffeinated coffee ok to drink while on creatine?

Pfffffft don’t worry about it you would have to drink a serious amount of coffee to get the diuretic effect (the sheer volume would cause you to pee first) ;)

Reminds me of this thread - http://boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055180269

Simple solution is just drink more water.

I think I read in the coffee forum about the diuretic effect being negated by the liquid itself. i.e. you drink 1 cup of coffee you wee and extra 1/2cup. So you should not really count it as your water intake for the day, but it is not reducing your water intake.

While if drinking lots of straight spirits you would have to drink additional water to take into account its diuretic effect.

Does anybody know of any "anti-diuretic" supps/drugs?

Diaorlyte (sp) is designed to help you retain water and minerals. I tend to use it before a comp when I'm trying to put any weight I've lost back on. Works well. Buuuuuuuut large amounts of food and water plus not going to the bathroom equals nasty mess when you do eventually go. So use it judiciously.

I think the diuretic effect of caffeine does tend to get a little bit overplayed, as if a cup or two of coffee is instantly going to drain your body of large quantities of water. I think I read sub 300mg (about 50-100 in a cup of coffee) results in no more increase in urine output than water) , I wouldn't say creatine is a reason to remove it from your diet, for diuretic reasons at least.
