Westwood Clontarf Making Equipment

    Has anyone else heard that the almighty Westwood has resorted to making their own equipment. Sources on de inside have told me that the maintenance guy has replaced the Glute Ham and Reverse Hyper with two pieces that he has made himself:eek:
    I know save money at the members expense, i have seen the two pieces and they are a disaster. €800 a year for that sh1t are you listening Ben Dunne? stick that in an ad

    i dont understand the westwood bashing lately. i only joined in feb so i dont know what the other machines looked like but new ones are fine. a lot of places dont even have reverse hypers or glute ham machines, and if the maintenance guy did make them then kudos to him because thats some welding/spraying/padding job he did. seriously two machines and the gym falling to bits :rolleyes:

    I was a member of Westwood from the start mate and too be honest it is still one of the better gyms around. That said, when you start to make equipment which is pretty badly designed then you are putting members safety at risk. The mechanics of a Reverse Hyper needs to pretty bloody good so as to not damage the lower back, the DIY job is not up to scratch and will in time cause problems. The Glute Ham was out of order shortly after it was put in and a guy nearly toppled it last week or so. Westwood as dropped its standards considerably and have increased their prices which i don't get. They have let so many members of staff go and if you have taken a trip down to the showers lately you will see the state of the stairwell and the walls. Cleanliness is next to Godlieness.

    Purple monkey dishwasher tbh. That's a fairly hefty claim to be making about a big-brand gym and I'm not a big fan of hearsay where something so potentially dangerous is concerned.

    You could be right about it but I'd rather not have a free-for-all discussion about what shady happenings may or may not be happening.
