Here is a quick question for you all,

I'm currently thinking about leaving my current gym and joining a new one, I live in Marino and go to Westwood Clontarf so its basically a 10-15 minute walk, the reason that i want to leave is that to me the gym has gone downhill terribly in the past 5 months. Prime example is that when they let the PT's go,2 of them owned a back extension and reverse hyper machine and of course they took them, only in the last few weeks have they been replaced, but they have been replaced with 2 of the worst possible machines in existence, no brand, badly made and very uncomfortable for what they are.

    Rant over.

My question is how far do most people usually travel to their respective gyms? I really think that RAW gym seems like the best possible move for me at this stage.

    Cheers.

Hey there, I live in Clonsilla and train in Totalfitness in Blanch. Not bad but I use to train in powerhouse in the city centre. You mentioned RAW, a couple of my mates train there and they love it, its meant to be a great place. Defo worth having a look.

Well i live in Wickow and have been travelling up to Dublin city center for gym training many days a week for almost 3 years. First was Sv Fitness beside where i went to college, then Pinnacle gym and now RAW. Can take a fair bit of time travelling to and from depending what times i get transport at but i always go in on the mornings. Don't regret it either as long as im sorted for equipment i need im happy :)

RAW is well equipped and will sort you out Gin if you do decide to join.

I would walk 1000 miles, and I would walk 1000 more! But my college gym is only a five minute walk away so I go there, it's handy 'cause I'm the only person that squats there! And I lift at my home too when I'm not at college.

Yeah been hearing good things about RAW, i really need a place to work on my lower back, its a big weakness of mine and for my new program both of the 2 exercises mentioned above are ESSENTIAL!!!

Which is another thing that pissed me off in WW,they have about 12-15 brand new flat screen TVs but then buy crapy equipment? call me mad but i would say that the equipment is more important than than the f*uckin TVs!!!!

They're not really.... I've never been on a RH and rarely if ever use a hyper. THere's A LOT of things you can do for your lower back if that's the only reason you're leaving!

i live pretty close to my gym, but its all up hill and i have no car, so it takes me about 20-25 minutes.

I workout in RAW, thankfully it’s only a 30 second walk from my job and I get a 90 minute lunch break. Talk about a gift!!

Great gym, if only people would learn how to put back weights and plates when their finished!

Mine is 7km from my house, so it's a 45 minute walk, 20 minute cycle or 12 minute drive.

Worth it for a cheap and empty gym.

I'm a member of 2 gyms...weekend one with nice pool/sauna/jacuzzi etc which I'm 10 min drive from and my weekday one for weight training is 5 min drive.

Clearly the recession is not hitting you :P

I only live a 7 min walk from an excellent gym! 3 mins in the car but I rarely use the car as I don't want to be one of the people that tries hard to park as close to the door as they possibly can and then goes inside to go on the treadmill!! :)
