Stretch Marks

In recent weeks I've noticed stretch marks forming around my shoulders/armpits.. where the pecs, shoulder and bicep meet. Is there any particular reason for this? i.e. bad form, progressing too fast..

Also anyone else experience it from weightlifting? How did you stop/prevent it.. if at all?

I'd really appreciate any helpful responses!:)

If you are genetically predisposed to it then weight training/rapid growth will cause it. They fade with time and if you get a sun tan. Do a search on google, i think you can apply some vitamin E thing on NEW stretch marks to reduce severity but it wont work on old marks. Think lasers etc can be used.

Happened to me too when I was younger (15-17). Nearly non-existent now.

I know you use Arnica for bruises but I think it works for stretch marks too.
Also just moisturising the area should help reduce them.

Yes, use bio oil on the marks. It's oil you get in boots or any chemist and costs about €13. You need to be moisturizing a LOT to keep the skin supple and stretchy or you'll get marks and they usually will fade but are permanent.

Stretch marks can be a sign of Zinc deficency.
