Which protein are we talking about here? Whey or Casein?

whey protein + milk = additional cals which could help you get fat or bulk up

whey protein + banana = insulin spike causing increaed uptake of protein

whey protein + juice = similar to above

whey protein + mass gainer = your teeth will fall out due to sugar overload

So Ideally if I was looking to bulk a bit I would lump they whey, milk and a banana into a blender?

I'd normally have the whey with water, and eat a banana with it. I must try it with the milk tonight and see...

Doesn't Whey with milk also give it a casein like effect? ie. Slower release?

Whey usually doesn’t mix very well with milk , so I’d use a blender if you have one handy

If you're using a shaker then the whey should mix fine, if it doesn't then get a different whey!!

I have a shaker, so I'll give it a try. If it doesn't work, it doesn't work..

    What??
I've always used whey with milk and it mixes perfectly apart from one brand (Supp Factory).

Everything else has been fairly yum, far nicer than with water.

Does anyone have any insight on this? Is it a huge difference between absorption rates with milk and water?

AM Workout: Milk in the morning before workout
PM Workout: Water in the evening after workout

This is of course just pour moi.

I've wondered this myself too (fat and differing proteins in milk may slow whey absorption compared to water with glucose but just how badly, does it even matter) but you know what, am I really at a level where that stuff matters. Nope.

Still nice to know these things though

I have used a few brands that are a bit harder to mix milk (maybe I am just too used to using water:p)
