..who have tried all the job pages...and still have time on their hands.... who have a little spare cash to keep themselves tickin' over...

After been flat out for 3 years I'm down to about 5 days work per month. Now I've too much time on my hands and am bored sh1tless during the day.The point?

I'm lookin for blokes who have time during the day to play 5-a-side footie when everyone else is workin' or at school. - then if we feel like it feck off to the pub. or do any feckin' thing...do yer bit to get more work ..but the rest of the time take advantage of yer situation and stop being feckin depressed..and improve yer soccer skills.. lets get a 'no-workmens club' goin and get a game started

Excellent idea OP. Now, if someone had the same idea for gamers or simulation fans...

    I'll play in goal.
Less running involved. I can barely walk at this stage.

Or alternatively you could look for work/volunteer

I'm just a guy, don't think I'd qualify as a "bloke". Am I still allowed?

Don't forget there's stuff like astro leagues and so on: http://www.astropark.ie/page.php?p=117

And the Boards Team forum has a thread for people looking for matches: http://boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055297413&page=4

I think the standard expected might generally be higher there though. I understand this is the fat/unfit/useless at football thread? Count me in. :D

People can email you at that address or send you a private message with details. Generally best not to post mobile numbers or personal email addresses here.

its more of a game organized during the day for those who can.. - the evening hours are already saturated with clubs, leagues, strict timetables..we'd have to pay cash and book 2323523 months in advance for that craic...besides i'd much prefer watching the good stuff on telly else heading for pints in d'evenins

Great we have enough for one 5 a side team in Leinster. Need a few more though. We can't play with ourselves.

I doubt they begrudge them an hour or so of physical activity, or less depending on how unfit they are.

besides, with ireland apparantly becoming a nation of tubby freeloaders (or so i'm told, figures available from the centre of stuff i heard from some guy) it's nice to see someone willing to do something about it.

the tubby part that is, we all know everyone on the dole is a parasitic leech with no real value as a human being and need to be fired into the sun or sent to the bottom of a well on the dark side of the moon. Either is good.

...where was i, ohh yeah, jumpers for goal posts, ahh takes me back.......

thread-bare dole jumpers for goalposts... but hopefully it wont come to that. As for the social welfare - football is a profession...

Thanks Javaboy for pointing out we now have 16 names...I'll throw a date out and see how many we can get for a game this week

As there might be a few bank holiday hangovers, I suggest trying to get a game going for this Wednesday (6th) afternoon before lunch...who can make it?

Location: The 5-a side pitch on South Dock street (just off Barrow street)
    Time: 12.00 midday Wednesday

    I'll bring the ball..

I see there's 10 in Munster...I presume thats Cork. Lads you'll have to organise a game/pitch amongst yourselves...Thats not to say you're not welcome in Dublin but might prove a bit too much commitment..Unless of course we take you on in some sort of unemployed games cup final

Well in fairness he did say where the pitch was 3 days ago. You can always organise your own match.

Yep, we have won medals and been on TV don't you know.

Also, our season just kicked off, so the squad is closed.

However, it being the summer, we could always do with extra bodies.

If anyone feels like they could bring something to the squad, have a look in the forum, it's linked under my name there.
    :)

Why is this in AH when it only accomodates Dublin People?

The OP had a great idea but has no intention of organizing anything outside Dublin, and has put Leinster in the poll depsite the game being organized for the eastcentral Dublin area, thus ruling out anyone outside Dublin.

I for one think this should be moved to the Dublin forum tbh. It certainly isn't meant to be accomodating anyone else.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 41,926 ✭✭✭✭_blank_

This thread is too AH-ified for the Dublin Forum at this stage, thanks mods. :)
