Also, fully agree with the sentiments about talking the library. The other day I was sitting beside a gay fella who seemed to know every girl in the library, because every time one passed they would sit and have a full blown conversation for about 10 minutes. The third girl sat on the edge of the desk making mine wobble. I gave her the eyes of death, frustration and murderous intent. She apologised and moved on. We should bring back the death penalty for people like her.

Sure. Its because he insists on talking like a spoilt Beverly Hills heiress. No problem with gay people but the extremely camp variety do deserve to be mocked. Its very irritating. Why can't people be reserved and Victorian like me?

Shocker... I bet you do CS.

So its ok for you to chat in the library but not others, simply because (in your mind) your conversations are short.

Those people arn't important, the library is there solely to serve Denerick.

Watch it, I think your E-penis is showing again...

Had to laugh at this one actually. So if you see people you know in the library you shun them altogether? I suppose you behave like a monk in a library? What nonsense. Brief pleasantries if you haven't seen the said person is not only customary, but its basic human politeness. You might want to give it a go sometime.

And I don't do CS. Though I've always assumed you do science. No-one else appreciates your genius, of course.

You know, if you had all studied consistently throughout the year as any reasonable student would, there would be no need to cram during the 2 weeks before exams and compete for desks.

I have the perfect desk/area, someone else who might take it simply won't appreciate it as much as I do. Thats how I will continue to justify this.

Pretty ****ing stupid justification tbh. Which isn't to say that I never blocked up a desk back in first year by leaving books there, going for coffee and forgetting to pick them up again, but at least I wasn't enough of a self-centred twat that I thought I (and only I!) deserved the most perfect spot in the library because I'm just that much more appreciative of it than other people.

Well, it was pretty tongue in cheek, but whatever. I really emphasise that I simply don't care. I don't feel remotely bad about hogging up desks. Not one bit. There are desks to go around, first come first serve mate. People can go in earlier in the day if they want to get a good desk. And I do feel I deserve the best spot in the library because few put such effort into it as I do! Very few people actually have a running internal dialogue about the merits of certain sections of the library and the quality of certain desks... I've a feeling I might do a thesis on it. Calling me a self centred twat actually re-inforces my point because thats exactly what I'm shamelessly doing. And I don't care.

Besides, I've done my bit during the year. I actually am studying at home now for the next two weeks. I'm talking about the last couple of months or so. Don't feel bad about hogging up desks whatsoever.

Now, where I in a busier part of the library (Like the english section etc.) I might feel a little guiltier but where I am there are actually quite few students studying anyway. Its nice and obscure. So hogging a desk there makes me feel top of the world. And next time I sit down there I'll smile with self satisfaction at the thought of someone desperately looking for a desk... After wandering in at 3 or 4 in the evening!

I thought you said there were plenty of desks to go around...? So why would someone be desperately looking for a desk?

Anyway, it's nice to know you get so much... eh.. comfort out of seeing other people looking for a place to study and can't find one. Whatever floats your boat.

Yeah, you better not give away what desk it is that you seem to think you own on here or at 9am on Tuesday morning I'm confident there'll be a lot of people racing to take it away from you to experience some of that joy from seeing you.

To be fair, anyone who's ever been inside the library knows there are two sorts of people there, those who are deserving, and those who aren't. I think it's virtuous to take seats away from the undeserving, the loud and obnoxious and drive them from the library. And I don't think it's elitist to say that if I had a seat, I'd be using it more than the average person, on the balance of probabilities, what with their talking and using mobile phones and highlighting every line in their ****ing notes and their stupid hair and fake tan.

Nobody actually called you a twat, but it's very perceptive of you to pick up on the general feeling.

I may be a twat tonight, but I'll wake up in the morning and you'll still be a dickhead.

You really messed up the Churchill quote.

Maybe I should have added a smile or something to make it more obvious I was being facetious. Awh well, not every post can be idiot proof.

This topic has suddenly gotten more active now that it has turned into a grammar war. Nerds.

Don't make a post criticising Boston's spelling or grammar, I did that and got an infraction!

    Just a warning!
