    Hi,

Well I broke my collarbone last week, its a pretty bad break and I will be having surgery next week. Im in pretty good shape at the moment and would like to minimise my fitness/strength loss as much as possible.
Can anyone recommend any exercises/tips during the recovery phase to help me achieve this? I have reduced my meals from 6 to 3. I have gone from exercising (lifting weights/crossfit/running) nearly everyday to nothing.

    Thanks for reading,

    Jim

    surgery? for a broken collarbone?

Hell I got a sling and told to get my ass out of hospital.
3 days later I trotted off to Feile 94 or whatever and got langers for 3 days :)

I borke it playing rugby, in a tackle. I went to tackle a guy who was running pretty hard and I believe he dipped his shoulder at the last second. However we collided I came off the worse. Ya the bone nearly broke the skin. The doc said given my age etc its probably best to get it plated and set correctly so that it heals correctly. I can't wait to get it done, it just feels all wrong now. 8 weeksn in a sling, not too bad.
Thanks for the advice, yes I think any exercise upto when pain occurs is the best option. My buddy suggested the leg press machine will become my friend.

Gonna be hard to do anything for a few weeks anyway. Broke my right one twice, any bit of strain anywhere near my chest or shoulder area hurt, including just lying on my back.
