Not sure if this is in the right place but sure here goes.
I was just looking for some answers about sauces/spreads when it comes to food.
Is marmalade on toast a better alternative to butter? Or how about jam?
Is relish or salsa on your roll/sandwich a healthier alternative to butter?
How about the curry/sweet & sour/bolognese sauces you get in a jar. Are they ok for you?

No is the answer to all those questions.

If you want sauces then learn how to make them yourself, pretty much anything that comes in a jar is full of sugar and/or salt.

No and no. Both are mostly sugar. Butter may be a little denser in calories but it is waaay better for you than both Marmalade or Jam. If you're worried about the amount of calories in butter spread it thinner, and think about cutting down on the bread (esp white bread).

Sugar shoots up your insulin levels and long story short it makes you fat and unhealthy.

Both again would usually have a lot of sugar in them. Though not nearly as much as jam/marmalade, so they're better than them. Judgement call. I'd say stick with the butter.

Not sure about curry, think it's not the worst. I'd often make currys from the jar, dunnes finest, pataks etc. I'd usually not make rice though.
Sweet and sour has a heck of a lot of sugar in it. I'd suggest avoiding.
Last time I looked at the back of a bolognese sauce jar I was impressed by how little (added) sugar it had. I'd say you'd be grand once you're not drinking it by the litre.
