I grew up in Dublin. I moved to Portrush, North Antrim, while in Uni, I now live in Perth, Western Australia, if I could get further away from my parents, I would.

I'm currently 1,886km from where I was born apparently. Can't really judge it from where I was brought up as that would include 3 countries.

The world being round and all , take a step left or right or backwards or forwards , and you are as far away from where are now as you can possibly get, spherically speaking.

Probably about the same for me. Is wellington closer or further away then Christchurch? Probably closer.

I honestly couldn't be living any further away from home.

    Isn't antarctica closer than Australia?

OK, antarctica is 122 miles further.

122 miles over a distance of 10000 odd miles is in the region of 1 to 2 percent.
A 1 to 2 percent difference is not discernible with a cursory "look at a map".

    Hence the query.
I genuinely thought Australia was further.
It is not (by all of 1-2 per cent).
