Swine Flu Map

For any of you who are watching the outbreak of Swine Flu, here is a map which monitors the swine flu outbreak world wide.

There are suspected cases in France and Israel, and several people are being tested in Nova Scotia.

    It's worldwide people.

But remember, the normal flu season in America kills 40,000 people a year, so don't panic.

~EDIT: I started a new thread, because I think this thread should be for reporting new outbreaks as they occur, rather then discussing the possible ramifications, and responses, as the other thread has done.

I can't find a Legend for the map.

What justifies the difference in the yellow tags and the pink ones?

Very strange that Africa is not at the races with the swine flu. Not a single case.

People need to listen to Alex Jones to keep informed on this swine flu, he's the only one telling it as it is. http://www.infowars.com/listen.html

Im not worried. We had this a couple of years ago it was called "Blue Flu".

There are a lot of benefits like not having to worry about being caught drink driving! Deadly!

Pfft, this is just a slow news week for the media. Remember the frenzy they whipped us all up into about Avian Bird Flu?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,431 ✭✭✭✭Saibh

    Confirmed cases in Scotland.
Two people have tested positive for swine flu in Britain, the Scottish health minister has confirmed.
The pair were admitted to hospital in Airdrie, Scotland, to undergo tests after returning from Mexico, where more than 100 people have died from the illness.

Yeah I was watching BBC earlier and they announced that they would have "test results" from some poor unfortunate during the programme. It was like watching the X factor or Big brother.

I took the liberty of putting together a swine flu warning sign. Feel free to use it however you wish. Finally I can keep people from coming and knocking on my door looking for money and such.

If this swine fever takes hold in Ireland it will be far more deadly than in any other country. We will have no hope with Mary Harney and the HSE running the show. They havn't even issued any masks here yet. This will be like the iodine tablets a few years ago. They reassured us today that they could vaccinate 50% of the country. What about the other half and what are they going to vaccinate us with? Jays Fluid? They have no vaccine as it's a mutated flu virus. My advise would be to stay indoors and wear a mask.

I can't find a Legend for the map.

What justifies the difference in the yellow tags and the pink ones?

    Pink markers are suspect
    Purple markers are confirmed
Deaths lack a dot in marker
    Yellow markers are negative

says so in the left hard corner

Crowd: We need a cure! We need a cure!
Hibbert: Ho ho ho. Why, the only cure is bedrest. Anything I give you would be a placebo.

Woman: [frantic] Where can we get these placebos?

The crowd overturn a truck in search of placebos, but alas the only thing inside is a crate of killer bees.

Man seizes bee, puts it in mouth. “I’m cured! OW!!”

They have enough anti-virals to treat half the country, not vaccinate. And it would be one mighty pandemic if anywhere near to half the country caught it.

No official travel restrictions yet. Just cautioning the general public to avoid the areas unless necessary.

I'd say by June this'll all be over. No need to worry.

They have advise people not to visit affected areas unless it is of immediate urgency so I'd say ur safe enough.
