Previous ones worked OK - see this thread from earlier in the year.

I had no problem myself with a Pizza Express voucher in Milanos Galway.
They should be glad of the extra business.

Thanks for the reply - used the previous ones there as well myself. It's just that this voucher looks a little different because its promoting the Leggara range and I don't think thats on sale here yet. I'm bringing the in-laws there tomorrow night. Don't want the embarassment of it being refused. Will ring them to be sure.

I was thinking of going for lunch there tomorrow.

What in the name of god are you talking about?

Milanos in Cork will accept these vouchers.
All Milanos and Pizza Expresses in the British Isles are obliged to.

Why would you ring them I don't get it.
and I can only infer from your post that you asked them if they were expecting these vouchers?

why would that be of interest to you, and why would you be disappointed that they were not?

    According to their T&Cs:
This voucher entitles the bearer to one free main course when purchasing another main course from the menu at PizzaExpress

    http://www.pizzaexpressoffers.co.uk/terms.html

It says nothing about Milanos, which is why I asked if they were accepting them there. They are under no obligation, despite accepting previous vouchers.
Why would you ring them I don't get it.

I assume msmuffins meant accepting, not expecting.

Whoa whoa whoa, whats the problem?

I'd call ahead too, to see if they were accepting them. Makes perfect sense.

Are we considered to be in the British Isles?

Galway are not, by the way. Not yesterday!

Has anyone confirmed this? They worked for me the last time.

Someone earlier said that over the phone Cork were not accepting them.
Even stranger when you see that the Cork Milanos appears on the UK Pizza Express site as one of their restaurants??

I rang Milano in DunLaoghaire to see do they accept them - pretty normal thing to do me thinks - the guy on the phone said that they normally accept all Pizza Express vouchers but he would have to see it first and confirm with his manager, he reckoned there'd be no problem.

Re the Cork branch, maybe the guy onthe other end of the phone was new and didn't realise they were the same company? possibility maybe?

edit: I should have added I'm going there in an hour so I'll let you know!!!

    Scratch that, DU1 1DU worked.

Galway refused mine as well although they did accept the others earlier this year. They said that these vouchers were to promote a new range that is currently only available in Pizza Express in the UK only and did not apply to Ireland.

I mailed Milanos when I got the mail about the voucher from Pizza Express asking if it was valid & this is what I got back:
    Hi,
Because this menu doesn’t launch in Ireland until May we can’t offer you the Leggara range but we will be running the same promotion with www.ivenus.com from the 11th May

Looks like some places are taking them in the mean time though.

I don't think any Milanos are open after midnight (Cork or Dawson st aren't) -

I emailed Pizza Express and got this back
"Milano always, where possible, try to honour PizzaExpress
promotional vouchers etc subject to the same conditions applicable to the
promotion. Some of their promotions (especially price specified or product
specified) are not always possible to offer.

Most 2-4-1 type promotions fall into the YES WE CAN DO category and we are
happy to treat these in the same way in Milano as Pizza Express."

    So - it's not 100% Yes or 100% No

I went last night to dundrum. We used the voucher. We got 2 starters, a pizza with no cheese on it :( , pasta which was not nice at all , a dessert and 3 soft drinks and still the bill came to 45 euro. It was NOT worth the money at all. It was really really bad food.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 408 ✭✭karlyk1

Used it in Milano Temple Bar last night, 2 vouchers between four of us, no probs. Did ring beforehand just to check though and the manager said it was fine. Thought the food was actually very good for pizza and salads. Either way, about 30 quid off our bill is still a bit of a bargain. Thanks OP.

Planning to use mine tonight, hopefully there will be no problems. Recommened Dawson street or temple bar?

went in and got the starter, main and dessert along with the other half. Total came to 53 bucks! Minus one voucher still 41 bucks! Now im not too mad about it, its just i wasnt near full after eating and neither was she. Was very dissapointed and felt totally ripped off for this... pizza's were a bit lacking in the toppings too and very thin... dont know what it was but just totally unfilling meal :(

wow you really messed up there dude.
of course the pizzas are thin if you order them on a romana base, thats their specialty.
If you are so bothered by how dear and un-filling it is then why did you order two starters and two desserts?
I am sure that 4 margheritas between you on a non-thin typical base would have filled ye and would have cost a total of 20 euro.

you can't blame them because you ordered unsuitable items.

It was not supposed to be a romana base. I try to shy away from those specifically for that reason.

Trying to fill up ran up the bill. However even after forking out 41 quid still had desire for a chinese two hours later.

This was my first time going to Milanos, but i have been to Pizza Express in England. TBH it doesnt even come close. I know its the same company, but the irish version has very poor standards in comparison.

    AVOID!

    AVOID!

but it is Pizza Express jsut with a different name.
Look at the cutlery next time they say Pizza Express.
The menu is the exact same,
the design/layout/toilets everything is the same
I have not noticed any difference in the food.

Its just not called Pizza Express for marketing reasons, and to justify charging higher prices, but how can you say it doesn't come close?

shoulderchip - do you work for Milano or something? you seem to reallly care alot about why Africa didn't enjoy his meal. Seriously. Get over it!

The new ivenus link works for me. Thanks for that.

It worked in the Cork branch there.

The manageress was telling myself and the girlfriend we should abuse the hell out of it and print up a load of vouchers.

She said that the last time they had the deal on, in the Galway branch some randomer just walked into the packed restarant and started handing the vouchers out to everyone at the tables.

She also said they accept ALL Pizza Express UK vouchers..

ha the irony is if I worked for them I wouldn't give a fuck probably

I just think its a decent offer and his calls to avoid it were peurile.

well the Ivenus ones are specifically for Milano so they have to accept those.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,629 ✭✭✭Hunchback

the ivenus ones are definitely working in milano in galway. they are also accepting the ones from the pizza express website now that the new menu is being used.
to the poster who wasn't full and found it expensive, you can produce as many vouchers as you want for the one bill, so you can have 6 mains and only pay for 3. maybe just have a jug of water aswell, cuz its always what you drink that whacks up the bill. that way you would defo be stuffed, and the saving would be about 40-50 quid!!
