Just wondering what barbell you lot use.

I just got my new barbell kit in and it had a 7ft bar. It will be no problem for Squating/Deadlifting But will it be ok for benching. My bench wont be here till tuesday.

Is a 7ft barbell to long for bench press?

I need to buy a second bar anyways, So should i get another 7ft or get a 6ft or even a 5ft

    Cheers

Man 7 foot all the way. Depending on what bench ya got, it might only work with a 7 footer anyway. Most commercial stuff's too wide for a 6 foot bar.

They only weight 20kg so if ya can press that you'll be fine.

Its a Olympic Competitor Bench, Il get a 1000lb 7ft bar then. Cheers

    7FTW!!!

I have a six footer and it won't go with my squats rack so I have to tie socks on before I put on the plates, can't really explain it as I'm just awake =]

I have a 6ft standard bar and wish I had got a 5ft, it is too long to move around the room easily.

I am guessing the socks get tied onto the bar where the plates should really be, 6" from each end to give 1foot extra length, then the plates but up against the socks. You could get metal tubes a little oversized for the same effect, or plastic pipe. Also you could use hose clamps.
