Seriously just how lazy are the PR people for the average Matthew McConaughey romcom.

Ah, but you see... in the 'Ghosts of Girlfriends past' poster, he's on the left. In the other two, he's on the right. Totally different.

nope.... there doesnt seem to be any other promotional poster....

This thread is even more confusing than the animated version of 101 Dalmations.... Surely the writers missed out on something here.... Dogs can't talk.

You betta believe I went there.

I checked for other posters on this film but honestly, like a previous poster stated there is none.

Did anyone else notice that the "ghost" above the two leads is black and white...BUT HER HAND IS SKIN-COLOURED.

    Terrifying in its subtle weirdness.

PS This type of film doesn't exactly cater for the smartest peeps out there. So why bother pushing artistic originality in the promotional psoters, when they know The Mac will bring in bums on seats.

Off topic, I hate hs films, but god damn, The Mac is a living legend.

But seriously who cares how many different types of poster are released for another average rom-com.... ?

I think its done on purpose as the hand is reaching out of the frame and the other two pictures have bits of their hair sticking out of their frames and having colour in them, so I think whoever designed this poster wanted it that way (probably to tie in with the tag line about the past catching up with you.).

So not a mess up, not a great poster though. ALso I cant see the other two posters from my end, what are the other two films anyway? I'm guessing one is that alabama one he made that was crap, cant think of what the third one is...

If you think that's lazy, just think of every Stephen Seagal film ever. They are all basically the same thing, down to the posters. Read this http://seagalology.com/ for some laughs about how true it all is!!!

I'm guessing the original links (which I can't see either) would be to How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days and Failure To Launch posters which are indeed mind-numbingly similar :)

Jennifer Garner - one of those actresses you wish was in better films. Repeat viewings of Catch Me if You Can and Alias will have to do for now.

    I always liked him TBH,

I thought he was very good in A time to kill and I enjoy his fluff films. I guess its just easy for him to waddle into these Rom-coms pick up his $5m and head out with lance armstrong and cycle.

    I'm sure there are more.

That has to do with the fact that she is ugly as sin. Looking at Sarah Jessica Parker and trying to keep your lunch down is quite difficult.

These photos are not a coincidence..

They're because the lifeless body of Matthew McConaughey needs to be propped up against something.

He's actually been dead since 1993.. and his performances since have been completely conducted with strings (a lá 'Weekend At Bernies').

Maybe he got a severe case of halitosis and all his co-stars refuse to stand that close to him face to face?

That's the thing about that Matthew McConaghy, man. I get older, he stays the same age.

He could just be played by a clone while the real Matthew sits at home on his porch going crazy.

So, what, you're complaining that the three *totally different* movie posters, that happen to feature the same actor in the same genre, but different leading ladies & different backgrounds and different fonts in different colours on, have him in them ???

This thread should be locked, because you sir obviously are !!

I think it has more to do with the fact that they are the laziest posters of all time. All three are almsot identical in the placement of the main characters. It seems that I'm not the only one to notice the trend as I just found this article on cracked.

Why would anyone ramble around a message board posting over 4800 times? Some serious issues there. Get a talent. Posting on here isn't adding anything to your character.

So what if those posters are lazy. They are all ****e films with pointless actors in them. They deserve dull posters.

Oh my God, I never realised till now that accessing a website to share my views and converse with other people was in fact detritemntal to the continued maturing of my character. If you must know I have many talents, most of which I'm sure are far superior to yours.

The whole point of a forum board is to create debate across a wide variety of topics no matter how mundane they may seem. If you find the topics to be ebneath you then simply don't bother posting, there's no need to resort to cheap and childish insults in a bid to try an dboost your ego.

Yes. It's a common trick to use when one star towers over their co-star.

At the end of the day, these crappy movies are sold on the main actors rather than any attempt at a storyline, I read a few years back that McConaughey has a clause in all his contracts that one scene in each movie he stars in must involve him topless.

McConaughey isn't a bad actor, he's just an amazingly lazy one. For every Frailty or Reign of Fire he has a dozen low brow, lowest common denominator rom coms on his cv.

That's true, not many guys have won a digging match against Batman.

So we're citing "Reign of Fire" as an example of a good movie McConaghy has done?

Reign of Fire is a very under appreciated film. It failed to deliver the Dragon vs Humanity war that the poster promised but at the same time it's entertaining as hell and looks stunnning.
