Worrying about Kearney's illness. Apparently it's the mumps. Which would put him out of the Munster match probably. If it is the mumps, i hope the rest of the squad are vaccinated!

Hopefully it's not the mumps and as you say if it is he'd want to stay well clear of the rest of the team.

    Wishing him well.

    Edited to add:
Just checked up on mumps, it's contagious so could potentially wipe out the squad, what would happen next week, ERC re-schedule the game???????

This has been going around UCD for ages now,and they only started offering MMR this week. It's that contagious you'd hope everyone's vaccinated!! Fingers crossed it's not

Was he training with UCD for their AIL game last weekend? I've heard truck loads of punters up there have the mumps!

Fúck the Munster match, just hope the guy's ok. It can be fairly serious after all.

But they did send an email about 6 months telling us it was a problem in their defence. :p

Far too many problems in their defence!

    Ah I know it's a disgrace.

And given that a huge proportion of our young rugby players are at UCD it's a worry for the larger squad picture.

Good ol' UCD. Glad I'm finished there today. :pac:

That's if you can get through the security! (and the rivers...)

Anyone know the Warriors xv? (too lazy to look myself :o)

Paul O'Donohue should be in the squad, has been more effective than Chris Keane whenever he's come on.

    True that.

Haven't seen a Glasgow side named yet, at least not on their site or BBC.

Glad to see Jennings as captain. He's shown some good form lately.

Is Hogan injured or something? Brilliant to see Toner starting, but how can MC justify this?

Keane on the bench? Where's POD? Where's McFadden? These are players who have proven they want to play, and their efforts go unrewarded.

As a side note, I really really really really really hope nothing happens to BOD.

I'm hoping (praying) that POD has been released to play in the AIL semi rather than Cheika thinking Keane is a better option.

Toner is better? I've been surprised he wasn't ahead of Hogan for the last few months. He went from starting to not even benching around Christmas for some unfathomable reason.

How do you know its mumps? Wouldn't Kearney and most of the other students at UCD have been vaccinated as children? It would explain why he wasn't at the Aras meeting McAleese etc earlier in the week though. If the younger ones haven't been vaccinated then I imagine it's unlikely that the rest of team will have been vaccinated.

    Hope he gets better soon.

Sorry, I didn't explain that properly. I'm wondering how MC can justify suddenly jumping Toner to a starting position, when he's barely made the bench this year. Why the sudden 180?

I agree - I think Toner is better - but it just baffles the mind how MC is so inconsistent in his selections.

Ah right. In that case I haven't a ****ing clue. I long ago stopped trying to understand Cheika's squad selections.

Last hurrah of my season ticket!

Is VDL going to miss the Munster game, too?

Actually that's not necessarily true, Toner got a lot of gametime earlier in the season, including in the HEC. Dropped off the radar for a bit then, but now seems to be coming back into contention.

Ah, I see. I always just use 'year' and 'season' interchangeably when it comes to rugby. You're dead right so, and I did find it very odd that he just dropped off the radar.

Another day, another frustrating performance I think.

I think the half backs are poorly selected, would rather have Dr. Phil at 12 as preperation for next week. Worried about another implosion from the great man, and at least JS at 10 takes much of the pressure off him. JS is also a fine defender, likewise FC and BOD, whereas D'arcy has been very stand-offish defensively lately. In attack, D'arcy has been on a different wave lenght to everyone else, running into team mates, running away from support, and as a result, a lot of good opportunites are going astray for a variety of reasons. Still think D'arcy needs to be in the team, so I'd put him on the wing, with Luke at 11 and Rob at 15. We are so blunt in attack that something needs to be done to loosen it up, otherwise we've no chance next week.

Munster will pick Quinny, Wallace and Leamy which could play into Jennings' hands. I thought he played off the park by Niall Ronan, and the break down could be key.

Gone are the days when we would be almost guaranteed 5 points on a day like today.
