Hi Guys, I am a 33 year old woman. I'm 5.6" and weigh around 8 stone 4 lbs. So far i have been very lucky in that weight has never been an issue for me but recently i have realised that may not always be the case. I was hoping for some recommendations for a home fitness DVD. I don't excersice regularly, can't afford the gym or very much equiptment so i was looking to purchase a fitness dvd that will help to tone and improve fitness. There are so many out there that it is hard to decide. Any idea's please?

*waits for itsallaboutheL to come in with suitably pervy DVD comment*

I know transform reviewed a whole host of them for tv3 recently. I think Davina McCall turned out to be the best. Do a search through his posts or maybe PM him. He might spot this thread anyhoo.

    Hey Katie,

DVD's are great. Davina's one is excellent but it is TOUGH! Also as far as I know Elle McPherson does one too that has great results but is very very hard.

If you go onto amazon you can find these ones called '10 minute' and they are '10 minute abs', '10 minute pilates', etc and they are brilliant. They actually are 5 sets of 10 minute work outs, and you can choose to do one 10 minute set or the full 50 mins.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'm not actually looking to loose weight tbh, it's more about toning and fitness for me. I've read some reviews for Davina's DVD and they are all great so i think i may give it a bash.

    Hi Katie,

HHHMmmmm is all I can say about home dvds. Can you not go to local council lesiure centre gym they arent expensive and you can pay as you go. There is always an instructor there to give you some good advice. If thats not suitable get on your bike and use it instead of the car. Or start jogging. Ive never really found home dvds great you play them once or twice then you use them as a coaster for your cup of tean and choclate digestive. If you can stay away from the dvd and use the local gym you will get more out of it.:)
