What's with all the "how big is your mickey" threads?

Didn't this used to be a fitness forum? How come every second thread these days is about how much can you bicep curl/squat/bench? We're about 1 week away from a "how high can you pee up a wall" thread.

Well said sir. Methinks there has been a very obvious recent influx of extra testosterone on this here board.

It's a good way to compare your numbers with people of similar height / weight.
Better off asking here than asking random people in the gym.

    well sir...

that depends on many many many different things..

how much fluid you have built up
the type of shoes your wearing
    the ground your standing on
    the wind speed and direction
    the type of wall
whether your stability is being impaired by 25 pints
    is there someone watching
are you under pressure to preform
    how big your mickey is
    your health
    are you male or female

thats all i can think of for now....

on my last attempt..standing on a flat concrete surface in a moderate cross wind after 17 pints of the black stuff i managed 4.7ft....

Are you using the right form?
using the wrong one and you're liable to pull a muscle.

Back on (mature) topic, have to say it's pretty annoying how much you can lift threads, just compare yourself to someone roughly your same size and build in the gym.

Pffft, what's the point in even giving a number when you've made that many excuses already?

    Lolz,

Saw the title on the front page and laughed out loud.

I suppose the recent deluge of similar threads could give rise to the argument for a 'Lifting' sub section, but these trends oscillate and soon we'll be back to general fitness topics imo.

True but most of the guys in my gym are posers and can only lift heavy on the cable curl. No point comparing my bench to theirs...

That's not neccessarily a big mickey that could just be a really little dude. He needs to hold up a shoe.

I don't know there is usually some decent info in those threads (among a load of crap) if kevpants, hanley, or any one who is serious about the sport posts in there. There is also some inspiration in them, seeing someone younger and lighter destroy your PB can make you think "Hey I am actually a bit of a wimp, no more excuses or bs, its time for some hard work"

I am weak as piss but am currently working on my strength and enjoying it thoroughly.

forget a lifting subsection, there should be a comedy subsection. or maybe a fitness sub in the comedy section, most of the stuff posted lately is hysterical. he needs a shoe. i nearly fell off my chair.

Ya some good stuff being posted alright! :pac:

Maybe there's a need for a general chat / off topic / boasting sticky like other forums have...

You got banned from MMA for trolling so you decide to start here instead? If you don't like the threads, start one of interest to you. As deliciously ironic as someone starting a thread to complaining about the lack of threads started on a topic they approve of is, this is pointless.

This is something I was thinking about recently. If anyone wants this, start the thread, if it takes off I'll sticky it and clean the other stickies while I'm at it.
