    Hi folks,
a friends been hastling me to bring them out paddling. Has anyone any good spots in greater Dublin area to do the basics. Somewhere slow moving, clean and easy to launch. (I dont have access to a pool, so back to the old fashioned way)

    Prefably with safe parking closeby!!

    Cheers

broadmeadow estury in malahide/swords ticks most of the boxes. a calm day off Dollymount beach is good too as it doesn't get too deep quickly. Coal Harbour in DL is also good. Avoid seapoint as there are a number of submerged rocks that could catch out a beginner trying rolls.

First of all what type of boats are you paddling?

Cheers for the responses and strange pms!!

I have Dag shark and similar older boat. As I said it was for a beginner, (no rolls yet!) so I took them out to Donabate on a very calm day and gave them a couple of hours of playing around in 3 feet of water... then the following week went onto the liffey at Anglers rest, and brought another paddler.
A few practice capsizes, rescues and they seem to be hooked now.
