So what are our picks for who's going where?

Hunter to Raw with Rey going the other way is a cert. Smackdown will get killed in this, I expect they will lose Edge as well and either mcCool or Maryse. They may break up Mizorrison and the Hardys as well. Bourne and Henry will go to Raw.

are they doing the lottery this year? or are they having the GMs pick again?

I doubt they will do the GM picks, the supplemental draft is on wed 12am.

Hope Edge goes back to Raw, although then thats the 2 top heels in the company (3 if you include Vickie) on Raw if Orton isnt traded, hope Raw doesnt get screwed before the O2 show on Wednesday, it'll be interesting to see if the show is pre or post draft rosters

Raw will be fine, the one thing is with Hunter a cert, will they have him, Batista and Cena on the same show? I hope Punk goes to Smackdown because if the draft goes how I expect it to he will struggle.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,788 ✭✭✭✭krudler

    Ok my main ones are:

    To Raw:
    HHH
    JR
    MVP
    Edge
    Morrison

    To SD
    Cena
    Evan Bourne
    Michael Cole
    Batista
    CM Punk
    Miz

    ECW
    Rey
    Kofi
    Koslov

The divas i couldnt care less about, I cant tell who's on what show anyway

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,054 ✭✭✭D.Q

there isnt a HOPE of Orton going to Smackdown.

I no longer watch the shows so I couldn't really give a toss who goes where but it strikes me that all the scenarios presented by everyone above are pretty uninspiring. I remember when the draft caused a buzz and created shocks (Cena to Raw, Batista to SD etc.)

From what I can see the only changes that would be close to that kind of surprise would be Taker to Raw and Cena to SD.

Pretty much everything else has been done before which kind of touches on the point made by flahavaj in the other thread about how the feuds are being recycled over and over.

What was special about the draft was that it was designed to shake things up and prevent things from being stale. However the draft itself has now become stale and everything's been done before.

Ironically what would now really shake things up and refreshen the WWE would be to bring an end to the drafts and end the brand extension. That would generate an excitement and buzz that none of these potential drafts would come close to.

I would tend to agree with every point made here to be honest.
I will watch, but won't bother with it live. Sports package expired this weekend and i don't use it often enough anymore to resubscribe. So it'll be back to ze days of torrent, and then onto the USB key to watch via the DVD player :D

To be honest I hope the brand extension stays. Those who claim they are bored of the Orton/Edge/HHH/Cena/Batista monopoly and want someone else to rise from the midcard to give the main event some freshness will be very disappointed as the midcard will be totally ignored.

    whats the supplemental draft?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,602 ✭✭✭✭ShawnRaven

    whats the supplemental draft?

They only announce the first 10 guys to be drafted on each show, but there's over 80 people on the roster.

So the supplemental draft are the ones that are drafted later in the week, rather than drafted on the live show.

If ya get what I mean?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,054 ✭✭✭D.Q

ah yep.... can we watch the other draft?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,788 ✭✭✭✭krudler

Its upated on wwe.com throughout the day, its mostly divas, jobbers, managers etc who get moved on that, there'll be a few bigger names but all the main ones will be on Raw tonight

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,602 ✭✭✭✭ShawnRaven

ah yep.... can we watch the other draft?

Pretty much what krudler said, there'll be nobody of interest on the supplemental draft, unless it's an upper midcarder/headliner that's on the bench maybe.

    It starts at 1 am

cool guys, thanks for the info.

Just checked Sky and its a 3hr Raw tonight as opposed to the usual 2hr show presumably because of the draft. I presume this means we still get the normal amount of matches, right ?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,316 ✭✭✭✭amacachi

    Probably less.

Might be one less match, because they also cut out the bullsh*t recap segments and a lot of interview/promo segments too. ;)

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 22,972 Mod ✭✭✭✭Bounty Hunter

I think this would sufficantley shake things up and could happen:

To Raw: HHH, Edge, MVP, Christian, Matt Hardy, Evan Bourne, Gail Kim, Natalya, The Fink

To SD: Cena, Jericho, CM Punk, Rey Mysterio, Miz & Morrison, Charlie Haas, Micheal Cole, Lillian Garcia, Melina, DH Smith

To ECW: Koslov, Brian Kendrick, Jesse & Festus, Mr Kennedy

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,238 ✭✭✭✭Rjd2

I hope ECW does not get killed tonight, I dont mind the show losing Bourne as he is destined for bigger thing but please no Kozlov or Khali:(
    I

    I

I really could live with ECW getting killed in this, but only on the grounds that RAW and Smackdown benefit from it. If not, then it's not worth it.

    I

tbh I expect ECW to be slightly raped every draft as its the development brand and they will be benefitting from getting roster additions from FCW during the year anyway. I would hope Khali doesent go there and dont expect it as they would want him on one of the main rosters if only for his drawing power in india imo. Kozlov on the otherhand atleast atm would imo actually be able to give any young superstar (Swagger etc)who beats him a decent rub and i dont think WWE have anything for him right now.

Bit of a crazy idea but how about a 30 man Royle Rumble (or the actual Royale Rumble even better) to decide the draft in future with the Winner getting to choose his show and the other 29 split according to when they were eliminated. Sounds a whole lot more interesting than watching a draft done on Raw tbh.

It would devalue the Royal Rumble far too much

Well keep the title shot also.

You can't do the Draft before Mania because (barring this year of course) it would destroy the long term build and freshen up the roster at the exact wrong time. People will watch the TV before Mania anyway, they don't need a draft to grab their attention

15 man Battle Royal tonight as part of the draft ECW, Raw and Smackdown sounds animal.

I've grown to love Vicki. The amount of heat she can get from two words is awesome.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,435 ✭✭✭✭redout

    "Excuse me"

She barfed that about a dozen times in 60secs !

    Is that her catchphrase ?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 256 ✭✭OrtonViper

    Rey vs. Evan

    Can't wait

oh man. All the fly-highing was negated by a quick meeting with the solid barrier.

    EDIT:

oh, cole disclosed the stipulation. It doesn't matter who wins. if we see a 619 the first draft is coming to raw. Riveting stuff.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,181 ✭✭✭Iang87

dont think bourne could have done a worse job on that 619
