Alcohol or Milk - which would it be?

Had a nice ice cold glass of milk today with my easter egg, indeed it was incredibly satisfying, and I got thinking to myself, I don't think I could live without milk, it truly is the drink of champions. Now, I don't really drink alcohol, so this is an easy choice for me personally.

I'm just wondering where other people stand? If you had to give one up FOREVER! Which would it be?

    Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnddddddddd begin.

Poll question is which CAN'T you live without, in case there's some confusion that would tarnish the results.

Which can't you live without? 67 votes

    I'd get rid of Alcohol.

You can make a lot of stuff using milk. Not so much alcohol

    Best of both worlds.

i'm not a huge fan of drinking milk on it's own, i'll have it on my cereal and occasionally in my tea but never on it's own.

You can make 100s of drinks from alcohol...

I'd definitely give up alcohol. Corn flakes and whiskey doesn't sound too appetising.

    Beer for me!

I only have milk in cereal... I can live without cereal.

Ewwww I despise milk. Never drink it on its own or have cereal. I only ever have milk with coffee or hot chocolate.

That said, I'm not too fond of alcohol either so I didn't vote at all.

    But ewwww milk.

Agree with piste about milk. Horrible greasy stuff. Bleeaaarch! Even the thoughts of drinking a glass of the stuff would have me retching. Alcohol FTW.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

I really, really hate milk. Probably because I'm mildly lactose intolerant (that said I love cheese and ice cream), but there's something about the texture puts me off.

    So, alcohol it is.

I've always found something dirty about milk.

I don't hate milk though, i drink a lot of it everyday with coffee but alcohol or milk? Alcohol is in a league of it's own :D

As much as I enjoy the beverages on the weekend....I'd have to choose milk cause I drink like 2 litres of it every day!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,383 ✭✭✭emeraldstar

I would keep milk because I live on cereal. Mmm, cereal. Food of the gods.

Also I'd have to keep it for tea. Love my tea.

    Alcohol can go to Hell.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,221 ✭✭✭✭m5ex9oqjawdg2i

Well you need milk for tea, cereal and making food, like white sauce and pancakes, etc etc. Alcohol = hangovers :(

    Milk for me anyway :)

Would have to say milk over alcohol

Couldn't drink tea or coffee without milk

I agree with Piste and Wibbs.

Cow's milk is vile. Thick, fatty and just unnatural. It's for calves not humans. The casein just makes for too much mucus production in your head. Bleugh.

I take soya milk in my cereal. I have a weakness for soya chocolate milk and soya lattes in Starbucks. Nyom.

I don't really drink spirits. But love alcopops and a nice glass of white wine

    Lactose Intolerant :(

Milk gives me a terrible tummy ache.
Today is not a good day for me no milk chocolate and i hate the dark stuff.

Thanks. But COW'S milk is for CALVES. Not for people. So it's unnatural.
Dairy products are a health hazard. They contain no fiber or complex carbohydrates and are laden with saturated fat and cholesterol. They are contaminated with cow's blood and pus and are frequently contaminated with pesticides, hormones, and antibiotics. Dairy products are linked to allergies, constipation, obesity, heart disease, cancer, and other diseases.

The late Dr. Benjamin Spock, America's leading authority on child care, spoke out against feeding cow's milk to children, saying it can cause anemia, allergies, and insulin-dependent diabetes and in the long term, will set kids up for obesity and heart disease, America's number one cause of death.

    From some anti-dairy website. http://www.milksucks.com

Don't know how true that is but it's a little scary.

The same can be said for ANY fatty foods.

Drinking cows milk is no more unnatural than eating the actual cow.

i really dislike milk. I never drink it. The only time being is with cereal, but tea or coffee is without sugar or milk.

If i was asked to drink a glass of milk or have one of my bollocks cut off my only question would be..

Wold you like the left one or right??

I think i'm going to get sick. Soya milk is digusting. Even the Alpro light stuff, which seemed as creamy and close to real milk as possible, had me feeling sick drinking it.

Glass of milk while eating a spoonful of peanut butter is nice :D

I'd find it easier to give up alcohol than milk, but I'm not a particularly huge fan of either (and possibly becoming slightly intolerant to milk, I can't handle much of it at all without feeling queasy).

I would find it extremely difficult to give up Coke Zero though.
