TNA issued a text message alert tonight that a "former World champion from another organization" was in negotiations with the company to come in and that TNA hoped they would be completed by Lockdown.

Danielson, McGuinness or Tazz are the first that come to my mind. Aren't McGuinness' and Danielson's ROH contracts coming up soon?

I dunno about Mc Guinness but Danielson's contract is up in May, smart money on it been him I reckon.

They are but WWE want Danielson and he just won't sign because he likes it at ROH so I couldn't understand under any circumstance why he'd sign for TNA. Nigel did
    just lose the belt
but he's injured for a long time now so that would make no sense. Tazz or RVD is who I'd say it is

    I'd say Victoria

Knowing TNA it'll probably Justin Credible appearing at the next PPV attacking someone with a breadstick and never be seen again ala Al Snow!

Dare I suggest .... Rob Van Dam?

I've gone beyond the point of caring at this stage after that abortion of a PPV that Destination X was!

Ayako Hamada from Japan was signed and is coming in for the next set of TV tapings. She is a second generation wrestler being the daughter of Gran Hamada. She has over 10 years in the ring under her belt and is way ahead as a worker compared to 90% of the women on the roster.

Above Taken fron the sun daily wrestling update, Ayako is a former world champ.

The knockouts division could use her to be honest. It's been in the crapper for months now, even before Kim left.

I think they will just re-package Doug Williams as he is already under contract at TNA

Gotta be Tazz doesn't it? Coming in as a commentator obviously. Knowing TNA thought they will stretch the term 'World Champion' though so could be any kinda champion. Would be surprised if it was RVD.

    Well they called
    Christopher Daniels
a former TNA World Champion tonight if I heard correctly, and justified it by saying he was a World Tag Team champion so if they're using that logic for this guy too it could be anyone.

Only TNA champion which in reference to
    Daniels
    by definition is correct.

Before when TNA have announced something like this it has been so blatant and over the top you know its a big deal.

The whole unlock thing would make me think Chris Masters.

But its very low key announcement which makes me think its not a big name, also, how its worded "From another organization" makes it sound as if the wrestler is an active wrestler, like they have just gotten them to jump ship.

also, how its worded "From another organization" makes it sound as if the wrestler is an active wrestler, like they have just gotten them to jump ship.

That's what I thought, it does sound like someone is jumping. Shawn Michaels hasn't been seen in the last few weeks. ;)

I can't see how it would be anyone but Tazz which quite frankly would be a bit sh*t.

I'd be suprised if it was RVD, I heard he left WWE on good terms and can pretty much come back when he wants. I can't see him signing for TNA if that's the case, he wouldn't want to get Vince angry, he wouldn't like Vince when he's angry.

Meh, at this stage, Vince probably needs RVD more than RVD needs Vince. It's not like Vince would use him to his full potential and would only sign RVD to a long term contract to spite his opposition, ala Gail Kim and Christian.

I think Taz would be a good signing for TNA. I always thought he was a very good announcer. It just seemed his passion for it was beaten out of him the last few years.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,602 ✭✭✭✭ShawnRaven

Regarding Tazz, didn't injury screw him over from being a full time wrestler?

Yeah I think that's why he was stuck in the commentator booth. That and the fact he was good at it. I've heard he had a bit left in the tank for more matches a few years ago as he wasn't totally sidelined through injury (ala Austin) that never came to happen.

Announcing a former World Champ and bringing him in as a commentator will be a disappointment. As far as I know he left WWE on good terms though so I wouldn't hold my breath.

Could be Victoria though. She's been seen talking to TNA brass lately. Good wrestler too.

He's a decent commentator don't get me wrong and I'd be curius to see what he'd be like without Vince roaring blue murder in his earphones all night. But all this hype for a commentator, if thats who its gonna be is gonna just leave a lot of naive RVD fanboys feeling deflated come the PPV.

Yeah, but there was no way he was going to be able to work WWE's schedule, not in an in-ring capacity anyway.

Not as good as she used to be though in my honest opinion. She's lost a lot of what she had about four years ago. That said, she's still better than Taylor Wilde!

Victoria may not be as good as she used to be but she is certainly better than most women wrestlers at the moment. And Taylor Wilde is a pretty good wrestler, she is just bland in the character department.

I also can't see Victoria fitting in with TNA at all. Taylor Wilde never did it for me at all, it's not just that she's bland in the character department, but also the fact that every single match she has appears to be exactly the same!

Thinking about it, I can't really dispute that but that same match can be good if given enough time.

I think it's good that TNA can tease this and have people not knowing who it is and have the person be a surprise unlike what normally happens (see Christian Cage going to WWE).

I like the way that TNA do things slowly, but not at the speed of an arthritic slug on valium at the same time either.

F4Wonline reported they signed some japanese female wrestler to be the new gail kim. Apparently she's a great worker and I google Imaged her and with the right picture she looks alright, just cannot remember her name

Her name escapes me also, can't say I've se her stuff, but they're also signed "Dark Angel" Sarah Stock, who WILL be the next Gail Kim. Really spectacular worker.

    Yo,

Well, after leaving WWE recently, I would like to make my first public comments here on the page. I would like to thank the Pro Wrestling fan base for the support through all my years with ECW & WWE! I especially want to thank all of you on this Facebook fan page from all over the world! I try to read most of your comments and I am truly flattered on how many of you supported what I did in the real ECW and my broadcasting accomplishments in WWE. Lets face it, after my debut at MSG vs the great Kurt Angle their wasn't much for me to "hang my hat on" as a wrestler during my tenure wrestling for WWE.

Now, I want to clear up some "true & false" for all of you....

    TRUE
-My contract expired the end of March and I had given my notice several weeks prior
-I ask WWE for my release to pursue other interest
-I offered to call Wrestlemania while I was not contractually obligated....and offered to call the show for free to the company.
-I have fulfilled EVERY obligation to the WWE, and pride myself on leaving the proper/professional way.
-On my way out, from Vince McMahon, Kevin Dunn & Stephanie ALL treated me great...which was cool.
-I APPRECIATE all of the offers for appearances but right now I'm just doing very few appearances (if any). I'm gonna chill out and watch my kid hit baseballs.
-I am done wrestling. At 41 years old, several neck and shoulder issues...not happening. I would be a former shell of myself.
-I too have hated the extra "Z"

    FALSE
-Burnout (If anything, I'm more inspired & motivated now than ever)

Hopefully that clears up some things people were saying in regards to my situation. Also, I have had the opportunity of becoming friends with so many talented & awesome people within the WWE while working there for nearly 10 years and will miss many of them! I would like to thank the writers, road & studio crew and all the talent...especially guys I have a closer friendship with.

I especially want thank three of the main play by play guys I've work with.

    Joey Styles
-A dear friend whom I've been goombas with for 15 years and will stay friends with! I felt Joey never had a chance to truly be "Joey Styles" in WWE as an announce talent...that's a shame. But the announce style is completely different than anything Joey ever really did in the business....tough to adapt.

    Jim Ross
-The best of the best! True Hall of Famer and a man I respect and appreciate. I cannot thank him enough for all he has taught me as an announcer...as of recent JR & I were the Smack announce team and were doing a strong job in my view....we have shared some good times on many road trips as of recent...BOOMER SOONER!! And I'm a Nebraska Husker fan (lol)

    Micheal Cole
-One of my best friends...a guy that truly gave me the confidence to excel as a color commentator years ago in WWE...Cole taught me how to get over the talent, the storylines and get over the brand! He was the only one that had the balls to flat out say to me "its not about you anymore"...I respect that. Amazing work ethic, always would try to find a way for me to get over on him...zero ego & underrated!
I been hearing that Cole has been getting bashed by some on-line fans lately- check this out, if you work at McDonald's and your boss wants you to cook BicMac's...you than go and cook BIG MACS! Anyway, I look forward to working with Cole in the future in some capacity be it TV or Radio.

I want thank World Wrestling Entertainment and the McMahon Family for all the years and all the opportunities...they allowed me a great ride which I truly appreciate.

In closing, I've been in the Pro Wrestling business for 23 years and I don't plan on disappearing anytime soon.

I plan to make an impact real soon in this, the ultimate in businesses and keep it's honor....lol....sorry for crossing the line with my sophomoric humor! Survive if I let you.

    FTW
    Taz

    http://www.facebook.com/pages/Human-Suplex-Machine-Taz/87912513335?ref=nf#/topic.php?uid=87912513335&topic=8470

Which bit are you referring to? "Impact"? "Ultimate"? "Honour"?

Well i was focusing in more on this:
-I APPRECIATE all of the offers for appearances but right now I'm just doing very few appearances (if any). I'm gonna chill out and watch my kid hit baseballs.

I'd say the last line is a way for Tazz just to get everyone assuming he will be doing something with one of the companies.
    But maybe he wont.

Or he could be throwing people off the scent completely, and he will show up on sunday and this whole post was a decoy.
Might make sense, as i remember after he announced he had finished up, there was an email link for anyone to inquire about booking him.

    So i'm not sure now.

But going back to your post bubs, thats what i was referring to :)

I suspect this could well turn out to be Sid Vicious. He's been making comments for a while about getting back into wrestling and I think he's wrestled a few matches in the last 12 months or so.

    That could be quite interesting.

I'd agree with your logic, as the best place to hit Vince McMahon is in his wallet. But for as long as WWE cater for a kiddy market, that's not going to happen because there's always a parent that has more money than common sense, and will throw money Vince's way just to shut the brat up.

Not that anyone will like my choice of wording... but it's the truth.
