    No problem :)

Highlander two-it made no sense at all compared to any other highlander film, and was rightly ignored by fans.

Twilight-heard good things from friends, but thought it was utter twaddle.

Those are two that jump right out at the moment.

yeah i agree twilight was totally rubbish with some of the worst acting i have ever seen. but i must admit that highlander two i can handle but mainly because i loved the whole highlander concept

The Pianist- Really! I have never sat through 2hr30 of such crap... I sat there for 150 minutes and thought to myself: why won't he die? when will he die?
and to be left with that ending just made me cringe up inside. i thought the film had some merit at the time, but the more i think about it the bigger the gap of hatred gets.

The Happening - I admire M. Night Shyamalan, he has a very unique style and story-telling ability. He has made some crap (Lady in the Water) but most of his films are very good (The Sixth Sense, Signs, Unbreakable). The Happening, however, is pure crap, in every sense. The acting is utterly shocking. I cannot believe that no-one on that production saw how crap Mark Wahlberg was. The dialogue is pathetic and the story was so utterly unconvincing that I cannot believe Shyamalan was even associated with it. It was not only a sh!t film, but it annoys me more than any other, because it should never have left the Editing Room tbh.

Batman the one with Michael Keaton in. Booooring. There's a bit where a bunch of goons machine gun him, I was think "hurrah, he's dead, I can go home now". Then he got up. :(

Everyone else I knew at the time thought it was the Best Film Ever.

Hate? Dunno, been disappointed by many films (Syriana, Matrix Sequels, Sequels in general!, Casino Royale) but few I would say I hate!

If I had to pick one though, Pirates of the Carribbean: At World's End. It was such a bitter disappointment after the excellent Black Pearl and muddled but entertaining Dead Man's Chest. I simply hate it for completely ruining what really could have been one of the greatest franchises ever.

THe ending of the departed was such a let down. It was like they ran out of money and had to stick in a quick ending. The rest of it was great.

    Anything with Meryl Streep.
    Anything with Brad Pitt.
    Anything with Helena Bonham Carter

I laughed through most of 'The Happening', the part where he
    talks to the plastic plant
    had me in stitches.

    Awful film, poor John Leguizamo.

    +1

A negative enough adjective to describe this film, simply does not exist. And I too am generally an m knight fan, I even liked The Village ffs.

For me the Austin Powers movies, especially the sequels, were atrociously bad - My hate of this franchise has been reinforced by years of people shouting 'Yeah Baby', 'Groovy Baby' etc

John Carpenters 'Vampires' is also up there - and is the only film that ive seen in the pictures bad enough to make me walk out before the end - I actually got rid of my UGC Unlimited card after this one.

I stupidly watched Surfer Dude recently. The stupidest film I've watched in recent times and my current most hated (there are possibly worse ones I watched years ago, but memory has gladly been erased of them).

It can't be that bad if it won the Best Feature at the 8th Malibu International Film Festival. If you can't trust the MIFF, who can you trust?

Moulin Rouge. God musical esque-sh1te... hated it.
Casino Royale was a massive let down, was expecting much greater things due to all of the hype of course.
The Science of sleep.... i watched this in the cinema with my friends in Glasgow and i came out with a headache, pretenciousness gone way too far!

Moulin Rouge. God musical esque-sh1te... hated it.

Was gonna nom this one also. Went to see it with an s/o when it was in cinemas. Absolutely hated every single second of it but regardless sat there smiling politely so as not to ruin the viewing experience for the other person. As cherry on the cake I got dumped by this person a couple of days later so I probably needn't have bothered.

Several years later I decided to watch it again on DVD just because I couldn't fathom hating a movie so much. Thought I perhaps it was just the surrounding events of the cinema screening that had temporarily clouded my judgement? As it turned out, after the resit I came away hating the movie *even more* that I had before. It really is the most painful piece of shíte I have ever seen (or suspect I ever will see).

So much so I've made a promise to myself that I will NEVER watch another Baz Luhrman movie for as long as I live and .... so far I have succeeded

for me, it's gotta be either "The Prestige", intiresting concept ruined by a plot so full of holes it can't stay afloat and a terrible, hackneyd ending...

    or...wait for it...

Godzilla. heard great things about this '54 classic, but when I finally watched it , found people so wooden it would make Pat Kenny cringe, a cheesy rubbish looking monster and special effects that went out of date twenty years earlier. messages are suppose to e subtle, not ham-fistedly shoved down our troaths so hard we gag them back up again!

I absolutely hated 'Dark Water'...it was the most miserable depressing horrible film - Gawd!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,076 ✭✭✭gman2k

For me it's a toss up between Chicago or Bad Boys. OK, I hate musicals, and I know I shouldn't have gone...
Bad Boys - I've never walked out of a movie, but that was the closest.
speaking of walking out of movies - the film I've seen with the most walkouts was Audition. Ya gotta love that torture scene!

Can't believe someone said they hated the Talented Mr Ripley - that's one of my fav films ever!

Also, anyone who hates Moulin Rouge has a heart of stone! :p If you don't get shivvers up your spine during that roxanne/tango number then you're clearly lacking some sort of emotion! :p

I hate ANYTHING with Jason Statham in it. Severly disliked Quantum of Solace. Aw and I saw this absolute stinker on TV a few weeks ago - had Gweneth Paltrow, Mike Myers and Christina Applegate in it. Something to do with airhostesses. Pure sh*te.

While certainly not the worst film I've seen I have a deep disliking of Jurassic Park 3. After the first was a masterpiece and the 2nd (while a bit hammy in parts) kept the same sort of theme and style of the first, number 3 just tried to be a super 'popcorn movie' and shat on everything which had come before.

Yep, pretty much ANYTHING by Baz Luhrman. I actually have a violently passionate hatred for that man's work....unsubtle, in-your-face, OTT camp movie making at its most brash and blunt. Like a Harvey Norman ad bred with Alan Carr and showered in glitter. My head and eyes hurt just thinking about it
