    Hey guys,
I've been using this for a while and seem to be making good progress. Im just wondering about its contents of isolates/concentrates etc?

How does it stack up against ON why which is 20euro more per 5lbs?

I spose i just find it strange that it doesnt have its content displayed anywhere. I havent seen them anyway...

    Thanks
    John

Jaysus Degs you sound like broken record. Bad quality rubbish my arse, both ON and the Supplement Factory protein are made by Glanbia to a very, very high standard plus buying either is supporting the Irish Economy and it's just as good quality wise as anything out there on the market.

How does one define good/bad quality whey? Surely the nutritional info on the side is all you need to know, or is there something i am missing?

Some whey's are bulked up with fillers (usually carbs). Also the danger is that when the ingredients are listed with actual volumes you can't be sure what the ratios are i.e. if it's a concentrate/ isolate blend it could be 5% isolate and the rest concentrate. The ingredients will always be listed by volume though so if something like sugar is listed before whey it means you'll have a product with more sugar in it than protein i.e. not good :D

So after taking a 300 quid per month income hit i should be paying top whack to support the irish ecnomy EVENTHOUGH they're more expensive?
I suppose all the people who shop in Aldi and Lidl are economic traitors too?

nah, course not, but I personally like to buy Irish and feel like I'm doing something. It's not the top reason I buy Irish, it's more that the supps I get happen to BE Irish.

The quality thing was what I was really disagreeing over ;)

    ;)

Well the fact is that i used to buy Big Whey as my supp of choice but it simply worked out too expensivce when compared to some other places's products.
Much as i'd like to give irish businesses a shot in the arm,the VAT and the rest of it make buying irish all the time unrealistic.
    As mr pink said

    government shouldn't do that, I'll
sign it. Put it to a vote, I'll
    vote for it"

But in the meantimes belts must be tightened!

    I'm no expert either.
I've used the unflavoured concentrate becaue the isolate costs a good deal more and is hardly going to make that much of a difference to your results.
Dont bother with the flavouring kits either, they dont blend properly and the unflavoured isnt too bad as it is.
A lot of peple want double chocolate berry blast mcflurry flavoured supplements but whats the point?
Buy some sweets if you like the flavours so much!

Personnaly been using the supplement factory strawberry flavour for a year now i find it mixes very well and i dont suffer with gas from it which i used to badly from other more expensive supplements!
    Just my personnal opinion!
And 5 lbs for 30 euro is hardly expensive!

I think i had bulk powders before and tbh it tasted like powdered glue mix.

I kinda like supp factory vanilla whey when its mixed with their version of cell (orage flavour). Scratch that i love it...

Does anyone know the composition of Supp factory whey?
Thanks again and sorry for the silly q's...

The supplement factory whey is not made by Glanbia, Glanbia nutritionals sports nutrition manufacturing is based in middlesbrough, north of England. The supplement factory is based out of Shannon minerals in Clare.

Difference in protein powders is simple, divide the serving size into the amount of protein in each serving to get the %.

ON - 30g serving with 24g of protein - 80% to achieve 80% as is protein the isolate must be at least 48% depending on the purity of the whey protein isolate it may be up to 60%. The only other comparable product on the market is Reflex instant whey and PHD Pharma whey.

SF- is 78% on label. IT does not say as is or on a dry matter basis.

For your own informatin you should check this out, if a company says it is as is, that means it is exactly what it claims. If it claims a dry matter basis then it can be within 5% due to moisture which the products do contain.

If you are in doubt go with an EU manufactured brand, Reflex, PhD have 80% as is. ON the same but flavours are poor US type flavours (cheap).
