This fine event is on tomorrow evening and we should represent.
    [details]:
Old Belvedere Ladies Table Quiz 2009
Fun table quiz in aid of OBRFC Ladies team.
    Host: OBRFC Ladies Team
    Type: Causes - Fundraiser
    Start Time: 09 April 2009 at 20:00
    End Time: 10 April 2009 at 01:00
    Location:
    Old Belvedere Rugby Club
    Anglesea Road
    Dublin, Ireland

I think there should be enough of us to manage 2 teams.

I have on my attending list so far:
    [edited @ 15:55 09/04]
    • Kharn - duh
    • shellyboo
    • DeVore
    • trowelled
    • tSubhDearg
    • shellyboo's housemate
    • Piste
    • MonkeyFudge
    • SyxPak (and maybe +1)
    • Master of Nothing
So who else is up for it? It'll be fun! I did it last year with DeVore, Trojan and Amz and much merriment was had.

would it be an over 18's event?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,928 ✭✭✭✭rainbow kirby

It looks like fun, but would be INCREDIBLY awkward for me to get home from.

  • Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators Posts: 28,633 Mod ✭✭✭✭Shiminay

Aisling: I'm not sure about the over 18's thing, but I will confirm and post again later when I know. The club house is a licenced premesis, but I'm not sure about the laws regarding such things.

    Joe: Fair moving.

Kirby: :( How awkward? You didn't say impossible... :)

I have checked with the lovely Ms Amz who's on the team running the event. She said it's not over 18's per sé, but don't go expecting to get served.

Would love to go, but I used to play rugby down there and would rather not have to set foot in the place again!

Cash isn't as much fun as bottles of out of date generic Baileys.

It's looking likely I'll be able to make this now by the way.

You were in Old Belvo? Know a few heads in there myself.

I probably won't be making this, heading out earlier than anticipated hopefully.

There were totally still bottles in that box when you took that thing out.

I'm definitely out unfortunately. Lack of cash + on call + interview in the morning. Have fun kids.

There were only two things left then, that and the bottle of ouzo which was in a box. Oh how I longed after the bottle of vodka that had been won earlier..............

Anyone up for meeting in town beforehand so we can all get lost together trying to find the place?

I should be in town from a little after 6.

  • Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators Posts: 28,633 Mod ✭✭✭✭Shiminay

Sweet, we've enough for 2 teams now, this is great stuff.

So come and find me when you arrive. If you don't know what I look like, I'm the one on the left on this page. :)
    (official work photo!)

For directions, this google map is a good place to start...

I'll be coming from the opposite direction, so I'll just see everyone there!

For those who don't know, get the Dart to Sydney Parade, walk up Ailesbury Road, and it's the second or so right turn on Ailesbury (the one after the turn off for Shrewsbury) that's the way to the back entrance at least.

I won't be going, friends to haed out with but have fun. :pac:

Is that shorter than getting the 46a and walking down Anglesea Rd?

EDIT: I've looked at the map and now I'm confused :(

  • Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators Posts: 28,633 Mod ✭✭✭✭Shiminay

Joe's talking about back door entrance shenanigans! The main entrance is on Anglesea road and that's where the club house is.

I'm getting outta the office now, see ye there.

Would getting off at sandymount, swinging a right and walking to simmonscourt road not be better? you live not too far from there...you should know these things:pac:

Yeah, that's what I thought as well. But then walking from the N11 down Anglesea Rd is definitely closer, I think.

Anyhow... me and trowelled are going to drive around in circles till we find it. FUN!

I would reckon around the 7:30 mark should suffice, gives 20 mins for meet & greet and to find tables:) gonna head out there myself in about 10 mins or so.
