    Hi,

so..... i have been a regular gym goer but got an injury around mid feb which stopped me goin. After that, pure and utter laziness just crept in. Feels and looks to me now that any results I had have all but gone. Getting the extra padding around the stomach and arms have noticeably decreased in size. The thing that is stopping me going back, in my head anyway, is that i dont want to start all over from square one which I suppose is the result of my lack of motivation.

Anyway, to get to the point. I want a good program that will give me strength and burn fat at the same time, just want to get rid of the love handles. In terms of diet, I know how to fix that, I know what is needed, i've done it before and I can do it again. I did squats and deads previously so willing to do them as part of the program. also willing to do 4-5 days per week heavy exercise (cardio included).

Anyone able to offer anything? Thanks!

Exercise is just one component. Post the following info for a more comprehensive answer:
    • Age
    • Sex
    • Weight
    • Height
    • Fitness goals
    • Typical daily diet (be as specific as possible)
    • Amount of sleep per day
    • Any past sporting activities, etc

Additional info like the above would help getting recommendations. The final programme along with sticking to it are up to you.

    25
    Male
13st 10 last time i checked (well built, not so much fat)
    5'9"
Want to start playing Rugby again so I want to build up my strenght again, however, i also want to get rid of the spare tyre and love handles, i don't necessarily want six pack, just to get rid if the handles hanging out over the trousers! I would call my self relatively fit, as in i could handle a tough session in the gym or on a rugby pitch without being brought to hospital!

I get a good amount of sleep, 8-9 hours most days

My diet at the moment is not god awful but its by no means great. I know all about diet and nutrition and I can sort out the diet my self, its the exercise where i struggle.

    Thanks...

Jaysus, do you want someone to lead you by the hand into the gym and show you?

WS4SB is not "too intense", it's a great all-round programme that incorporates the big lifts and will get you strong - the lean part will be your own doing diet-wise.

Seriously, all people can offer here are cookie-cutter programmes, if you want something tailor made see someone in person.

    ha ha, cheers g'em,

Im interested in the crossfit, i've heard good things about it. All I was saying was that I can make sense of the web site, not that I was unwilling to do it.

Well they talk a load of codswallop on that site so you're not really missing out :pac: (<3 Colm)

Essentially every day there's a Workout of the Day and there's a few old favourites that crop up from time to time. So essentially you can use that blog site as your PT - see what each days' workout will be and go to the gym and do it. It'll probably take a few weeks of getting used to, but you could get in touch with Colm O'Reilly who runs Crossfit here and maybe go down to his gym for a couple of sessions?

I'd still be an advocate of WS4SB though myself.

OP, check out CrossFit.ie and post up on the comments board there, you'll get a better answer about CrossFit.

Colms number is on the site there too, along with Wills (the other trainer down at CF Ireland). Give them a shout, they'll be happy to introduce you to CrossFit at a time that suits you.
